It was such a cool weird game. I miss those early Game Boy games that felt like they fell out of an alternate dimension. Everything is kept very uh "on brand" now, I don't think we'd get anything as weird as DK94, Mario Land, Links Awakening, even the Oracle games from Nintendo these days. Ah well. It can't be helped

yeah it's a shame. Mario and Luigi look goofy as hell in Superstar Saga and they toned it down a lot in the remake

I really don't like the, uh, guess you could call it the NSMB house style? It's really lacking in character, I mean it looks good but you can tell it's just putting a 15 year old strict 100 page "this is what Mario looks like" rulebook onto the screen. There are exceptions of course like some of Odyssey's weird semi realistic worlds but it's not the same

At some point in grade school we were given a very open-ended writing assignment (I don't remember the details) so I wrote a very earnest strategy guide to beating the first six levels of Starcraft.

It's been a while since we had a gamer confession thread, and with all the new faces around, we need a chance to absolve the noobs of any great gaming sins they may have committed.

Let's start off with a doozy, and something that has been weighing heavy on my heart for nearly two years now.

In September 2021, Bicyclops held an IK contest, and he botched the results, giving the IKship to the wrong person. I noticed the discrepancy, and messaged him about it. Worried that the mistaken results would fracture the still burgeoning Imp Zone, we decided that it was for the best that it be kept under wraps. I'm sorry to those that my silence hurt, especially absolutely anything the true IK of September 2021 through October 2021.

the point is you don’t pronounce it “starf-ox”, you say it “Star Fox”. There’s a verbal space.
