I've seen several models that are a little bit bigger, so they can throw a couple kid sized bunks at the front. Tight sleeping quarters, but not as tight as everyone in a 4 person tent.

When I made my pirogue a few years back, they said to put a layer of epoxy straight on the wood first, let it cure, then sand and lay the fiberglass on. And use a dry chip brush to dry brush the fiberglass onto the wood, to get it good and smooth laying on the wood before applying epoxy. Obviously this is more important when laying glass over more complex shapes than a flat sheet of plywood.
