That's really more of an issue of internet discourse generally being hot garbage. Cultural appropriation is specifically when you poo poo on items of actual cultural significance, like the headdress. A qipao is just a piece of formalwear, wearing one is categorically not appropriation. These two extremes are pretty easy to break down if you compare them to western concepts with actual institutional backing. The items on a war bonnet mark various achievements and honors bestowed by the tribe; wearing one is comparable to wearing military regalia and medals, and the latter is a crime if you are not the person who has earned those. A qipao is a status symbol indicating nothing more than that you are a person who can afford to wear and maintain a qipao. If you wear a three-piece suit you at worst out yourself as a dork rear end loser, it's never a crime to do so. There's a whole thornier middle ground of cultural commodification versus meaningful exchange to which I would never trust twitter discourse to meaningfully contribute, but whether something is specifically appropriation or not is usually pretty clear cut.

Most video games let you adjust difficulty on the fly, which rules because that means I get to try the hard difficulty and let the game challenge me, and just go "nah I don't feel like it" at any time. Lock me out of trophies or whatever, I don't care, just give me buttons to play the game on my terms and we're cool. The best is when games have modular difficulty options. Hell yeah let me keep the challenging combat but also give me extra loot so I can skip fights I don't feel like doing, and if there's even a "gently caress this particular boss encounter" that doesn't change the rest of the game, I will absolutely recommend this to anyone.

Sometimes mods will offer (or posters will ask for) picture probes. Like, my latest three entries are a Heathcliff comic, a cat I befriended and a nazi getting punched, because those are cool pictures I like. It's just a cute thing for mods/threads to do sometimes. The funniest part is that apparently there are some users who browse the forums primarily via the Leper's Colony, who would get absolutely steamed that there's a page of gifs in there and make angry threads in QCS about the Leper's Colony being unreadable.

Plenty of people have told him sincerely to seek therapy and tried to impress upon him exactly which behaviors to address and why. Like the permaban post is literally him saying "no thanks" to someone offering to provide him a list of bullet points to take to a therapist. Which, granted, I am assuming is a thing that E/N regulars do sincerely and not as a joke.

IIRC they were being bought for people with no av, and no one ever figured out more of a pattern than that or really minded because it seemed charitable enough.
