Escape From Noise posted:I am feeling a lot of emotions right now. I spent a little over a week out of a three week trip back in Santa Fe. I lost a day because I was late to the airport. I missed my dad's BBQ, which sucks but that's life sometimes. I flew into Seattle because my brother lives there, but it turned out he was going to be in Santa Fe or on the road the entire time I was in the country. I also realized I don't know many people there anymore. The friends I have there I care enough about to visit, but I ended up scheduling more time there than I'd have liked. Maybe I should have changed my fly out date from New Mexico, but I had other plans set in Portland. I don't know. I ended up not liking my hometown after leaving for college. It felt so small and boring. And in a way, it is. But I think I let that mentality get in the way of me understanding that it wasn't about the place, but the people. It was about seeing my mom and dad, as well as my friends. It felt so abbreviated. Four years was such a long time. they say u can never go home, not rlly. I've found that 2 be true
