okay I haven't been following this thread but it seems to me that since the paywall started there is a hugely diminished engagement across all metrics. I refresh Twitter a lot exactly because that sort of thing is interesting to me, outside of the political disaster it already has been. anyone else have this sense?

Has the paywall proper actually started yet? Regardless, I think numbers have been dwindling in terms of likes/comments/retweets for most accounts, like I think accounts that used to get tens of thousands of likes consistently are now struggling to even break a thousand, and if you load up comments not only are there less of them but there are almost always at least a few bot replies (pussy in bio, crypto etc.) even for fairly small accounts.

Unfortunately I was accidentally banned from X, the everything app, for my pro-Palestinian beliefs, so you are probably witnessing the drop caused by that. I stopped using X, the everything app, about a year and a half ago. I’ve kept my account open so when he inevitably sells it to someone for 1/25th the price he paid and they switch it back to twitter I won’t lose my epic posts.
