It's probably the least interesting series of the first round. Two very low event, structured teams going head to head is generally a coin flip in my opinion. Svech is hurt and outside of Aho the Canes don't really have anyone who can take over a series like they probably need. The Isles have Barzal back and a probably very determined Horvat.

To use a tired cliche, the Isles have been playing playoff hockey for a month whereas the Canes haven't had a lot of anything to do since like... January. I don't think either team is a strong favourite personally, but I went Isles simply because I needed an upset and the Canes don't inspire me this year. So congrats on your cup Raleigh.

Carolina still struggles to transition to playoff style hockey while the Islanders likely wont have any trouble at all.

I picked LA over Edmonton for the same reason.

I don't find picking a winner that hard although I get these wrong all the time, but trying to decide what (if any) sweeps happen is always the toughest part. Sweeps often feel pretty out of nowhere.
