I haven't watched a lot of games, but watching yesterdays Gamblers Vs Generals game, there's not enough talent or coaches for their to be 2 spring leagues. I don't know the pay difference between the leagues but I think the XFL just starting earlier got them most of the player & coaching talent. Neither team seemed to trust their QBs all that much and the game felt more like the first incarnation of the XFL.

Yeah, the USFL has definitely dropped off since last year, and at the very least it shows that there's not enough I suspect one of the two leagues will eat the other within a few years; there's definitely an audience for spring football, but not for two leagues. Crowds at USFL games seem worse this year compared to last, and they're especially bad compared to XFL crowds

All USFL players signed two year contracts but there was an out clause that meant that if you went to an NFL camp which a ton of USFL players did after last year you were a free agent, which meant that most of the best players signed to the XFL this year because they paid better. To me, Birmingham is still the clear best team in the USFL right now generally speaking due to continuity. I think they have the best QB and despite the losses they've looked the most together of all the teams. And yeah I agree. Gamblers vs Generals might have been teh worst game of the weekend and you're right. The talent is spread too thin. There were too many lovely XFL games this year and USFL games so far.
