Dak would be a shitton better with a different org

The NFL is a really tough league to win every matchup you should. Injuries and fluke turnovers will happen, so I’m accounting for that and two divisional losses somehow.

Diqnol
May 10, 2010

I could be persuaded to think WFT ends lower but Chase Young will be playing hard as it is a contract year for him. There are good pieces on both sides and Howell will have good RB and WR help to buoy his play somewhat. I think they won't be a 4 win team; 6 feels right.

"Read the full conversation on Twitter" and you will find that by comparing Daks results on third down across several seasons, using the metrics from the 2019 study, that, in correlation with a spike in interceptions in 2022 on third down, there's also a steep fall off in receiver separation and yards after the catch, on 3rd down.

And, despite the added interceptions, Dak still got top of the league results on third down overall.

Did you know he's 2-4 in the playoffs?

Did you know that since entering the NFL in 2016, Dak Prescott is 22-25 against teams that finished the season with a winning record?

Here's a stat from 2020 since you want to go back to there:

quote:

Last season, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys were 1-6 against playoff teams and 7-2 against non-playoff teams.

Dak threw for an even 8 TD-8 Int in their games against playoff teams, and 22 TD-3 Int against non-playoff teams.

I mean, in the stat that was brought up (wins against teams with winning records) he’s one of the best in the league and better than any other QB in the NFCE.

Most QBs have a very bad record against teams with winning records. Dak, at near .500, is better than most QBs.

Thank you for demonstrating that stats can be spun to support any narrative which goes back to the overarching point that stats are irrelevant in the face of rings and wins

Are you really gonna stan Dak as a cope for how badly run the Cowboys org is? If you don’t win, did it matter? Is the point you’re trying to make that your guy would win more on a better team? Isn’t that obvious?

He’s been consistent on his Hurts stance

Like hurts showed me something this year for sure but I’m still not truly convinced he’s a top 5 qb. If he can produce at 75% of last year in two years when the allstar offense dismantles some, I’ll never doubt again. As it stands, theres a lot masking his deficiencies.

Regardless of anything else tho he is undeniably better than Dakota Rayne

I think this is where a lot of people are coming from when they say Hurts is a better QB. Blarzgh tries his best, but you cannot use logic to talk someone out of a position when the original position is not based upon logic.

There is an inherent logic to Dallas being a mismanaged organization and this consigning its players to losing and thus bring losers. But obviously division rivals will troll too :)

The lineman's foot thing is whatever it was a joker rear end throw that wasn't going to be completed anyway and he had a shoulder injury.

His problems are more cerebral. Like he took forever to get the ball out for his first year starting and then this year was kind of similar. He hates passing over the middle and that's pretty bad for long term success. He also isn't really a big play guy with his arm. Doesn't like throwing the ball deep that much and does most of his damage when teams have to cover shifty WRs and forget about the flats.

He's come a long way since coming into the league in a short amount of time. In Bama/Oklahoma he was kind of a tragic athlete with his passing and entered into the league like that. Last year was a huge jump. Even though he runs a simplistic offense that can be snuffed out, he's really, really good at it. I can't hate a specialist just because he doesn't fit into the classic mold of a QB. If the Eagles can continue to win, good on him, if they start to lose because teams realize they can just cover the sideline against him or if he loses any of his WRs then I'll talk poo poo because I can.

When he does it again this year what will you say, same spiel?

If there’s anything I know about the NFL it is that you can be an imperfect player and still be hugely successful and HoF. Take a look at Emmitt Smith as an nfce example.

Hurts is not Pat Mahomes but nobody is and he is still evolving his game but he just showed he can evolve ala Allen, so why doubt he’ll continue to? You don’t need top flight arm talent to be amazing, especially if you can be an injury avoidant dual threat. I notice you focus on pocket passing metrics and fail to bring up his immense strengths such as the ability to diagnose when to use legs, to escape the pocket, to improvise on a broken play etc. He is a lot better and the game is more complex than the 90s scout metrics QBs used to be graded on.
