For the rusty hardware/parts, I've seen pretty amazing work done with Evaporust and then using a plating system from Caswell or similar. I don't deal with rusty cars :smugdog: but have needed to consider it with the various weird things I come across in barns/fields. Also keeping parts categorized in tagged bags or use stackable bucket strainers while de-rusting/plating might get you into good looking hardware without the big ol' bag of bolts that tend to plague part-out level rebuilds.

I wonder how many people were able to get ahold of the now-rare 1.8 FWD Impreza gearboxes before they disappeared. I've seen maybe 5 in the last 20 years and only 1 in the past 10 in junkyards.
