On August 2nd, 1990 Iraq invaded neighbouring Kuwait. This was immediately condemned by the UN with Resolution 660 and economic sanctions with Resolution 661. Saddam Hussein, the President of Iraq at the time, was not deterred so the UN passed Resolution 678 to give Iraq until January 15th, 1991 to pull out of Kuwait. Iraq did not. On January 17th, 1991 coalition forces began bombing Iraqi positions in Kuwait and Iraq. On February 24th, 1991 coalition forces launched a ground invasion of Kuwait to drive out the Iraq army. Within 100 hours the coalition forces had driven into the heart of Iraq and had a sign ceasefire. February 12th, 1991 the Topps trading card company released the first set of the Desert Storm Collector Cards series. It was called "Coalition For Peace." They were followed by a 2nd set called "Series 2: Victory Set" and a 3rd set called "Series 3: Homecoming edition. Here is a news story from February 1991 talking about the release of the set.  Here is what Wikipedia has to say about the cards.  I was able to get a box of Series 1 and Series 3 and will start opening the boosters and posting the contents tomorrow.

Each Box contains 36 packs of 8 cards and 1 sticker. There are 88 cards and 22 stickers in each set. Let's see if we can complete both sets. Let's start!  Card Pack #1  Sticker  Sticker Back.  These appear to be a puzzle maybe? We will after to see when the Box is completed! Card #1 is #91 "Rolling Thunder"   Card #2 is #146 "Allied Forces"   Card #3 is #121 "USS Longbeach"   Card #4 is #152 "Harpoon Launcher"   Card #5 is #100 "LAV-Light Armored Vehicle"   Card #6 is #133 "F-111 Aardvark"   Card #7 is #109 "F-15 Eagle"   And that is it for the first Pack! Apparently I am missing a Card in this pack or Topps counts thr puzzle piece on the back of the sticker as a Card. I have decided to not post pictures of duplicates I get. This is so I can open more packages in coming days! I hit my picture upload limit with this first Pack. Also a correction it seems I have a box of Series 2 and Series 3. Not a box of Series 1. It is wax from the packaging. The stickers do peel from the puzzle piece, but will not stick to anything.

Here is card #112  Here is card #172   Ok so going forward all packs in this set will have duplicate stickers and most cards will be duplicates. Instead of listing them I will just say if a pack is all dupes and post the new cards. Card Pack #18 Has 6 dupes and 2 new Card #118 "A-10 Warthog"   Card #111 "F-4 Phantom"   Card Pack #19 Is all dupes Card Pack #20 Only 4 cards and all dupes Card Pack #21 1 new the rest dupes Card #160 "Lt. Gen. Kelly"   Card Pack #22 All cards are dupes At this point I've checked to see if we are missing any cards. We are still looking for one more card. #115 is missing! We still have 14 packs to find it. Card Pack #23 All dupes Card Pack #24 1 new card and the last for the set.   So that is it! We completed the set and still have 12 packs left. All will be dupes so I will just toss them out unopened. Sometime next week I will start the Box of Series 3 of the Desert Storm Topps card set.
