Okay let me give everyone a decent example of someone who has schizophrenia (I haven't seen anyone with catatonia): King likes to hide his medication so security has to be called every time to find them. He might dig up some earth outside and place a piece of trash there and cover it back up, cameras would catch this and security has to come over. King complains that there is a demon inside his hand and he might palm strike the air at random times. King is otherwise polite but doesn't seek out social engagements, he seldom showers except under doctors' orders. King collects napkins and often gets up out of his seat to place them on places on the floor, he might also adjust the seats around him, sometimes quite aggressively. King doesn't go to classes because he thinks they are voluntary and says that he is entitled to a higher badge level than what he has.

The maximum security facility is mainly populated by people who are incompetent and it is like jail in culture, most people won't even answer the patient phones, letting them ring and ring. As far as juice goes, either the PNAs have to get it for you or the LVNs (Licensed Vocational Nurse) have to. No I was never institutionalized. He was a close friend from childhood, or was. He had this habit of doing some things, which were not in keeping with sane behavior. And the first couple times the cops brought him to the hospital and then they sent him for a 48 hour or more psych hold which had the potential to be much longer. So afterward he bragged the first couple times he was just super helpful and they let him out without any fuss. Later times that didn't work so well so he changed his tactics. Apparently in Colorado if this happens you have to be cleared by a judge, so that's a whole other can of worms as I understand it.

Deaths are interestingly not an uncommon occurrence, from what I have heard two people have died in the Vernon Maximum Security campus recently, one patient's heart stopped from a prn while he was in a restraint chair. The other died from taking fentanyl-laced drugs that another patient sketched out on. In Wichita Falls someone died when one patient stomped another patient's head in. One patient asked me if I was circumcised and if I, you know, like listen to my foreskin with tinfoil. He has a collection of car pictures and will - we all suspect that he fakes it - stare upwards into his own skull and act bewildered before for an hour or two he tries to elope, smear poo poo around, or hits someone.

How do people get (illegal) drugs into the facility? I feel like they would search you very thoroughly when you first come in, to make sure you aren’t hiding anything that you can hurt yourself with. Are they passed on by visitors?

One of the pna's @ Vernon (the Maximum security facility) thinks there are drone drops. But other than that we know that the pna's tend to bring drugs in. I think all of the packages sent by family are X rayed. I wouldn't be surprised if they miss drugs brought in by packages sometimes. Since everyone comes in from jail, we aren't searched but our belongings are. Vernon didn't allow shoelaces for example but they do allow draw strings and shoelaces here.

So what happens after you get into a fight because someone keeps on insulting your mama and saying that you have a little dick? Typically there are a few PNAs in the immediate vicinity that will first grab you and will probably wrestle you into the ground, if you are at all belligerent, expect to be put into a restraint chair under the nurse's orders for the next four hours (maximum restraint for adults, juveniles are two hours). You will then be given a PRN injection that is like an extra dose of what you are already taking; some people become incredibly drowsy. You can then expect to fail your next DRB (dangerousness review board) or will be brought to one and will either stay at an MSU or will be moved to one.

And, How are medicines evaluated, what criteria?
