Do these numbers reflect the recent influx of scooters and small electric vehicles? Big cities became completely overrun with delivery bikes, with riders who are distracted to a ridiculous degree. Delivery dudes aside, riding a motorcycle (sanely) still feels safer than driving a car, just by virtue of the fact that it requires more concentration. Also I wired up lots of running LEDs on my bike instead of retroreflectors. Hopefully they're just as effective.
