My Diablo 3 account still has my monk that I created at launch and stopped playing long before Loot 2.0. I could reinstall and still try to kill a fallen with the pieces of poo poo he has equipped. Holy loving poo poo, items were such garbage in the early days.

You don't really have to concentrate on the spider bot. Doing most seasonal things will get you the stones for it. It can be handy to have for healing or helping to proc Vulnerable / Bleeding / Etc on monsters. Doing Nightmare Vaults gets you XP, glyph XP, and stones so it'll happen naturally. Set it up once with the stuff you got and forget about it for a while.

Everyone is free to have preferences but I really don't understand all the hate for the seasonal model here lately. Any character in an arpg is gonna get dull on a long enough timeline. Seasons encourage people to try other stuff. Do people really get so attached to one character? Is it just all the crappy live service poo poo? I find seasons a good incentive to come back and see something novel plus try a class or spec I never played. I played D3 for over a decade on and off and never even got around to playing like twenty percent of the builds you could play, and that game had sets which ended up limiting your options significantly. Not a knock I thought they were fun.

I started playing this on gamepass and am having a blast with a firewall sorc. The story I ended up skipping through to be honest I found it pretty boring and hated the forced dialog and cutscenes. Other than that I'm having a great time just burning fools to death. My first unique drop were the boots that work with my ultimate skill and I can run faster than a mount if I evade.

I liked the Rebirth model they used in D3, so even though you were still starting over at level 1 you still had continuity with characters. And then, of course, they didn't let you do it enough times to do it with every class.

The lag spikes definitely suck and have killed me a few times, yeah. But the nice thing about D4 Hardcore is that it's stupidly easy to go from 1-50 without even going in a dungeon, so no Butcher / Son of Malphus risk. As long as you stockpile a few Aspects it's a minor bump in the road if you die to some bs. Then you can go around and clear what you need for your build before the capstone. WT3 is where it starts to get tricky. Anyway, thought my (softcore) HotA/ Charge Barb could handle Beast in Ice at level 90 but I guess not. Got it down to half health but it was a struggle. Might have to slot in Lunging Strike again to set up easier Earthstriker damage, I dunno.

i had the same issue, figured i should be able to kill stuff well before i could. i don't know the exact paragon node or glyph rank that was the tipping point, but whatever it was, when i returned to the beast i consistently one shot him i always advocate for running vaults/nmd until key paragon nodes are done and your most impactful glyphs are slotted and fully activated. usually by the time i've done that, i've also incidentally found enough gear worth upgrading to 4/5 and start snowballing

whittle it down per slot. find out what your most impactful 4 stats are, aim for 4/4, then perfectly rolled 4/4 class, spec, content goals, etc like Tarnop said can help

Lvl 60 boney necromancer. I’ve mainly been looking out for gear with crit chance, crit damage, and intelligence, though I guess I should get more dexterity for crits. And I like the idea of thorns but I don’t think it’s working great. I don’t feel like sacrificing my boney buddies even though that’s supposed to be optimal (also I really like cold mages freezing enemies and refilling my essence). My goal is to play the game and make number go up I guess my goal for the season is to do some fun content that’s gonna vanish soon.

If you have the Aspects saved for an upgrade, just check if the main number goes up. You don't really need to worry about optimal affixes until WT4. I'm level 90 and have barely started looking at them. If the number goes up, Imprint the Aspect and make the switch.

I'd recommend shifting goals and aim for getting the battle pass to 75 so you can get the hat with a fabulous feather in it. Every game needs to have hats with feathers in it.
