It's not clear what happens to Diablo/everyone who all had their souls merged together into the Prime Evil and died (but, let's be real, there's no way they are dead for good and Diablo at least is making his way back).

No they have expounded on this in the lore books and basically they have an immortal “essence” that can only be contained but never permanently or destroyed. Blizzard has also confirmed that the “essence” of everything that was in the black soul stone has been freed.

After you get through the act I content, the cracks start to show in the story. So many of these cutscenes are glitchy, and a lot of corners were cut.

I'm less annoyed by the story than I am by the glitchy cutscenes. Are you in a party? Wonder if it's better single player.

Here I was thinking I was almost done minus the side content that needs to be done. The story really goes no where though and everyone is very stupid. I am looking forward to never have to touch that part ever again.

It seems slightly worse than D2 and slightly better than D3, so we're about right where we expected it to be.

A couple of the reviews have mentioned that the game feels a bit over-designed, by which I think they mean very slick and streamlined, but to the point where it starts to lose some personality or sense of achievement. Is that a criticism any of you early-access guys would agree with? I'm still undecided on whether to buy the game.

The real take of this is "it's not Diablo 2."

It's not, it's a different game, it's fun and if you like Diablo games or ARPGs you will likely get your money's worth.

It does, especially if you're following the campaign.

In a lot of cutscenes a small crow shows up and watches what's happening?

IIRC Diablo's human form is a goat, and Baal's is a crow.

Also, the Prava In Hell cinematic that was used for trailers? The whole thing is Diablo Four times longer and I had to take a break after it.

Yeah that cinematic is beyond phenomenal. I had to as well.

What do you mean by this? D1 and D2 could only have 2 "active" skills at the same time. (You could cheat this in D2 by setting hotkeys and having a mouse with a scroll wheel).

Seems kinda weird to hold an official race to 100 then nerf everyone who's participating after 2 days. If you consider going fast to be bad then maybe a race isn't the way to go.

Feel sorry for anyone who decided to try for that and has to totally change their build. Is there even an alternative barb build?

Alternatively, nerf people now to avoid everyone who didn’t preorder crying.

Are there any classes that drop their basic skill and just run a core skill for damage and have decent resource generation? Blizzard leaning into builder/spender for every class with basic attacks feeling so trash is lame. And the Barbarian whirlwind changes kinda shows that's how they want things to be, no easy resource generation, you must hit your basic attacks a few times before your core skill

Not AFAIK. Blizzard wants everything to be builder / spender.
