Brighton are

- selling Alex Mac Allister to Liverpool for circa £60m

- mayyybee getting Kelleher in return

- signing any number of teenagers from South America who will turn up in 2 years time and randomly score a worldie.

- have been told Colwill is not for sale

how do brighton get the work permits

Not sure but if there's a significant fee paid and they play regularly in the national team (like Enciso) then that seems to be enough to classify them as a big enough talent that visa rules don't apply.

It was tricky with Mitoma because he had little involvement in the National team so we loaned him out to Tony Bloom's other team in Belgium (Union Saint-Gilloise) until he gained enough points.

Hm no doubt Chelsea will turn to trying to sign Caceido instead now, and Boehly can try and do what he seemingly wanted to do in a first place and buy part of a MASSIVE football team like Brighton & Hove Albion.

Who knows but it seems like Brighton where desperate for him to sign a new deal before the World Cup, at which point he was only a bit part player for Argentina and wasn't looking like he would be a major part of their tournament.

This maybe explains the relatively low buyout clause (his stock obviously rose astronomically due to the WC) but from what I understand it wasn't a typical buyout clause and included some room for negotiations on the performance related clauses, which takes it up to 55m some of the outlets are reporting.

All in all he is an absolute model pro that did all he could for us, so not disappointed at the fee or him leaving.

Excited by this, feels like one of those signings M Utd/ M City/Chelsea/Liverpool etc. fans will be saying, how did Brighton end up with him, by end of the season.

Caicedo about to throw his toys out the pram but looking at the Enzo and Rice fee and that he is contracted to 2027 I don't think Brighton will budge.

Wasn't he trying to leave in Jan as well, and was being very open about it? I'm sure that's made Brighton want to do him a favour

I think Brighton would be keen and even want to sell him, but only for Rice/Enzo levels of money (or one third of a Kylian Mbappe) which Chelsea don't want to stump up. They probably feel burnt over Cucurella.

Left footed centre back...Fiorentina fans would apparently drive him here so I look forward to him becoming a world beater.

This guy was Brighton's replacement option if Caicedo went to Chelsea, who Chelsea seem to have signed out of spite. Therefore I hope he turns out to be garbage, sorry Ugochukwu I'm sure you're a nice lad.

It would be funny if Chelsea missed out on Caicedo after spending all Summer mucking about with bids they know Brighton wouldn't accept.

Not really sure why he would prefer Chelsea though, other than money.

He probably is. Big clubs around the world rate him and he’s 3 years younger.

Obviously no player is worth that at all, but then transfer fees are silly.

He will be amazing for the next 10+ years though. 8/10 player or better every week.

A bit gutting as I thought he might stay for one more season but glad he gets to play with Ali Mac again and Chelsea have been made to look stupid (again).

Also Brighton have paid for their stadium and training ground from 2 player sales in a week.

E: Reminder Man Utd could have bought him for 5 m, at the same time as Brighton. But they gave up as dealing with his multiple representatives was complicated.

Only the ones that go to Chelsea. Trossard/Bissouma will be fine. Caicedo will be the base of Liverpool's midfield for the next 10 years.

If Chelsea completes the Caicedo signing for £115 m as expected today they will have paid Brighton just under a quarter of a billion over the last 12 months.

To be fair they got stiffed by Caicedo and his Agents, who are set to make a vast amount of money from the bank of Boehly. Liverpool should have anticipated that happening though, I suppose.
