I think these days when people call themselves "a futurist" they're probably unaware of the Italian political movement from a century ago and instead mean they want to be the next Steve Jobs by selling you a sleek looking microwave with a subscription fee. I still think of the Italian thing whenever I hear some bozo use the term, though.
