my hands were craving lemon chickpea orzo soup, kind of a vegan-friendly avgolemono concept, pretty yummy soup! first we need to make some chickpeas:  hydrate them for 8 hours or so, then simmer 'em with bay leaves and a clove of garlic.    now to make the soup! ingredients (not pictured: olive oil, salt, pepper, and some cooked rice I threw in because I didn't have quite enough orzo):  "baby dill" sounds kind of like a term of endearment, doesn't it? no? just me? sweat those aromatics!  all the ingredients in, this doesn't need a very long cooking time:  plated up, a bit of salt, pepper, and freshly grated parm, and . . . who put that plastic down there? why? very odd. at least there's a spoon!  that's not a spoon, this is a spoon!  or it will be, if I cup my fingers . . .  mmm that's good handsoup  slurp slurp  this is soup, gotta get some of that liquid!  and things went on like this for a while, as you can imagine. anyway that's my handsoup adventure, thanks treasure for an amazing thread!
