I'm worried they may attract an exotic bird as a mate and move far away to raise a family of hideous Moraeuan man-birds. Then I will only get to see them occasionally.

I'm sorry, I should have been clearer. I know it's an irrational fear, but I can't help but feel it anyway. I think limiting my children's clothing choices is a small sacrifice for my peace of mind.
