They are holding a 48 hour protest due to changes in their API monetization because their CEO decided Musk's Twitter's business model was a successful one worth emulating.

lmao, yep. Musk proved that you can screw over your userbase and a lot of them will still hang around and some might even pay for things that used to be free. Now it seems like all the major sites are overhauling to be less consumer friendly.

If the reddit mods wanted their protest to have any effect they'd just leave the subreddits open and have everyone post the most traumatizing shock images while refusing to do anything.

Barring that they could just ditch reddit en masse and start their own site. Reddit's not worth saving and if any subreddit communities are they can just be transplanted somewhere better.

Escalating to extortion seems like a bad idea.

What is the purpose of r/worldbuilding exactly?

I'm guessing from the name it's for getting to what really matters in sci-fi/fantasy without having to worry about boring bullshit like plot.

It is a really good record

Listening to it on YouTube and so far it's better than that awful Reelin' in the Years song of theirs that the boomer rock stations always play.

A Vocaloid is a Japanese singing-voice synthesizer program, that uses voice samples from a real singer to create a 'virtual singer'. Similar to how digital audio workstation software can act as a 'virtual orchestra', the Vocaloid will sing whatever (Japanese) lyrics you ask of it.
(This has nothing to do with and in fact predates the current AI boom.)

Because this is Japan, the most famous Vocaloid voices have their own characters attached, such as Miku Hatsune, the anime girl in the attached video.

Not as good as the metal version.
