I downloaded the demo last night and played ~3.5 hours which for me is a lot of time to play a game in a day.

Yeah this game is right up there with Slay the Spire. I've beaten the demo and it actually made me re-install StS again. I can't wait for it's full release it's so easy to get sucked into one more round.

This is one of my most anticipated releases of 2024 (please come out this year)

I was playing the new Anaglyph deck which doubles the next tag you receive after defeating each boss blind. The next 2 blinds were "skip this blind to receive $15 after defeating the boss" with the first one being doubled.

^^^Not quite that for me but that's interesting you could double a double tag which means you could in theory get 4 (maybe even more?)

I skip a lot, earning money is nice but skips can be worth a lot more than the cash payout of a blind.

As far as the decks. Magic doesn't feel too special, I used it to more quickly build my typical straight deck so I turned an early Saturn planetary card into 2 more. Anaglyph seems more fun in that it lends itself to weird things happening like my above triple boss blind payout but that also comes down more to chance.

Four Fingers and that one joker that lets you play straights 1 card out of order makes a straight deck build hilariously OP. Cerulean Blue posed zero problem because I could always make a straight out of whatever card I was forced to play or discard it and play the next one.

I do think they need to nerf straight/flush decks, it's just the easiest build to win with and even when I deliberately try to build a different deck certain joker cards make it way too appealing to build a straight/flush deck.

Yeah being able to re-enter shops would be nice. I too usually forget what round I'm in and then end up fighting Curelean Blue with a bunch of spare cash.

Finally got a win with a not flush/straight deck. Playing Anaglyph and I used the double tag to boost two pair with a blind skip that tripled the level each time for a +6 level bonus ending up at 11.

In the livestream he seems to have it in a mode where hands play (animate) more quickly. Is that a setting you can configure now or specific to the full release?

Had my first full release Balatro bone headed move where I played a single high card (it had a gold seal so I wanted the $3) forgetting that the boss mechanic was play only 1 hand type.

I'm confused by the "per round" descriptor on a lot of cards. Like the tickets that give you +1 discard/hand "per round", that would seem to imply if I'm in round 5 I should get +5 hands but I only get +1.

First post-release win! Started trying to build a straight deck and ended up getting a ton of 3 card planetary cards and that carried me the rest of the way. Beat the final boss in one hand.

I think because there is more cards now you have a bigger pool to draw from and it can be harder to build a focused deck early on. My first few runs were terrible.

At least one mult joker will be enough to get you thru the first 2 antes. Sometimes if the blind skips are good enough I'll skip the first 2 blinds and just hope I can draw well to beat the boss, that can setup a good run.

Early on I aim to get some kind of mult joker that can let me win most blinds with one hand. That lets you accumulate the bonus money from leftover hands, early interest isn't really that important imho.

Also the blind skip that gives you +15$ for beating the boss is a very nice early grab.
