Hey you should check out that Home Safety Hotline demo on Steam. It's got a straightforward fake desktop browser interface and some pretty great short vocal performances from the callers you're "helping." Doesn't waste too much time getting to the good stuff, too.

The FF16 side quests are good specifically because they're so low-effort to do. They seem like they're just an excuse to talk to some NPCs and get little world-building vignettes. I actually prefer this to many other games' side quests that try and cram in a bunch of Content. When I go to do an FF16 side quest, I at least know that it's probably not going to be a pain in the rear end.

what is a pvpve extraction shooter
FPS where you create a loadout with your loot and spawn into a 20-minute raid with other players competing for more loot against AI opponents. If you can extract without being killed by other players or AI, then you keep the loot for another raid. If something kills you or time runs out before you can get to an exit, you lose your loot.

You tend to die in a small number of hits, depending on armor/headshots and how much healing gear you've got.

I was gonna try The Cycle but the cheater talk scared me away p fast. Tarkov is stupid popular so it's a constant arms race between the devs and cheaters, and the frustration is compounded significantly when you do all the complicated inventory/loadout bullshit and some dude one taps you while flying 75 feet in the air

Been playing Honkai Star Rail since I needed a turn-based RPG fix and it's okayyyyyy. Its biggest crime is that it doesn't let you mash through dialogue.

The best thing going for it seems more like a side feature, a roguelike VR dungeon where your party picks a perk after every fight. The weakness/stagger system is cool; puts a lot of emphasis on party composition and you can stack different kinds of stagger status effects.

I'm worried I'm gonna hit a P2W wall pretty quick because some of the fights are already pretty tough, but I'll enjoy the ride while it's free

No one plays this, no one has heard of it, but it is a great tactical game. The factions are pretty unique. Watching a friend play as the pirates right now where they have a good missile boat, a good missile mech, and then very bad mechs. He is trying to steal ships away from another faction using their pirate mechanic to fight the not-zerg on the other end of his empire.

It plays like romance of the 3 kingdoms in space.

There's a really whiny negative Steam review from someone that dumped a ton of money into the game and is big mad the devs didn't suck his dick enough so he quit. Had to buy it after reading that.
