ScootsMcSkirt posted:

i thought they were both really fun. Spider-Man is a solid action game, even tho Peter is a cop-sucking loser. Should take around 30-50 hours to beat depending on how much side content you do

Morales has some cool new stuff and the combat is a bit more fun, but its very slimmed down. You can 100% it in like 10-12 hours

thanks guys. i got both so ill give the first one a go when i feel like an open world type game

I went into Remnant 2 knowing nothing about it except a strong recommendation from a friend that I saw at a party yesterday saying "it's so cool, you get to pet a dog" and I'm blown away by how good this is

it's like Dark Souls merged with Borderlands. Bordersouls? Darklands?

I went through the intro/tutorial section, and then into the first real "world", and I kept exploring until I found what the game considers a "dungeon", and then I kept exploring and I found myself in a cistern and I pull a lever and there's a gigantic boar-looking thing that teleports and I have to fight it with a melee weapon and it dies and there's loot and there was like zero prompting about of this except my own curiosity

and it looks incredible on top of everything else

I played the first one until a crash corrupted my save and I never went back but what I did play was pretty good!

have you co-opted much? I've heard that is really good. if it's a main part of it, I may put it up on my list ahead of Armoured Core.

Finished Roadwarden before starting on ac. Fascinating until the end, starting into the week sleep deprived. Though I'll probably not be doing a second run in the near future. Unless I'm really wrong I've seen more or less everything with one completionist run and ding a lying rear end in a top hat run would be largely the same, but lock you out of some content. Also it seems that the endstate is mostly a did or didn't do the quests thing. I'd buy dlc or a sequel.
I went with a scholar and there was really only one time that combat was dicey (if you use quicksave), but I put off the heart of the forest until I had a lot of tools. 40 days were comfortable, but with the highest difficulty you might need to push faster or plot out optimal paths. Feel like starting as fighter would make things overall harder despite beong the supposed easy class.

roadwarden owns. i think the way i described the world to my friend was something like "a fantastical world treated seriously where you are a witcher, except without the narrative black hole eye roll of being cool guy geralt"

i went with a fighter and i have no idea what the difficulty would be like as another class. i think their biggest advantage is that you start with good weapons so it mostly just makes the beginning part easier

anyway when normal people start getting ahold of it, its probably going to be considered a classic surpassing even fallout 4

is fallout 4 considered a classic? i mean, i enjoyed it because i love the fallout vibe, but it's definitely got flaws, takes some steps back (dialogue choices), and doesn't add too much (some crappy loot/building minigame).

i just finished Tyranny , a follow-up that no one noticed to Pillar of Eternity only 8 years after release. it's got a really cool world (political power struggle in the bronze age) in the standard isometric CRPG vein. you can be the standard sword and shield guy, wizard, bow guy etc, but your political position is essentially a law clerk/judge/court official that's there to oversee the warlords conquering the last holdouts of the world on behalf of the ultimate evil overseer.

the magic system owns, you get to assemble different sigils into cool spells. i'm not the biggest fan of RTwP tho, so i got bored of it towards the end. the low budget shows itself it in how limited some of the content is (some of the maps are feel like they're meant to be a lot bigger) and some of the character/exposition is a bit clunky. but it's worth playing if you're into the CRPG genre for it's cool setting, story and non-d&d rpg system. it's not too long, which is kind of a plus for me with RTwP games.
