I don't mean to be pushy regarding the television series Red Dwarf; I am not that specific type of smeghead. The thought has occurred to me, however, that I haven't made the best case for it.

If you find yourself in the mood for a solidly witty sitcom with better sci-fi underpinnings than a surface reading might suggest, and well-realized characters brought to life by a cast with pretty great chemistry, well...maybe seek out one of my favorite individual episodes, "Thanks for the Memory". I think it makes a great case for itself. Or jump in with the first ep, which lays out the premise pretty clearly. It's worth considering, is all, if my description catches your fancy

Dave Lister is definitely one of the more relatable Last Humans I've encountered in fiction
