Nashville isn't a rebuilding team. Nashville is a permanent tire fire with no future.

Their ceiling is being embarrassed in the second round.

Yeah they DMed the account making the accusations, and didn't get a reply so they closed the case.

honestly the sorokin contract isn't bad if he can continue being one of the best in the league for most of it and it ends before he's really at the "sucks badly" stage

A lockout isn’t a strike. It’s the opposite of a strike.

So from the ownership side that’s just more doing what they want him for.

I think may be by underwhelming you meant short-lived, which I agree with. No doubt in my mind that if Voynov's assholery doesn't throw off the 15-16 season, they could have remained competitive for a few more seasons.

Obviously much bigger leagues revenue-wise, but the second/third best player on their team on the Boston Celtics just signed the biggest contract in league history. Patrick Mahomes had the biggest contract in the NFL for a year or two, now he’s like the 8th highest paid player.

Meanwhile in the NHL GMs have somehow convinced players “you can’t make more money than X, he’s the team leader!” Not saying player salaries should double, but it’s been ~6 years since McDavid signed his contract and only Nathan Mackinnon signed a bigger deal (by 100k a year lol)
