To me he looks oily, maybe the context is messing with my brain (big shirtless dude must be oiled up). But now I am trying to figure out how to make him more/less oily. Maybe the highlight tone being darker would lessen the effect. Or texture of some sort, but that seems against the spirit of the picture.

Cloud still has more detail than original FF7. Also I'm flattered but the thread wasn't renamed and doesn't have 300 replies (maybe I'm reading wrong?), it was unstickied though. The character portrait thread does have a nice chunk of posts. Lots of great pieces in there over the week or so. If you do make some new pieces after this thread you should definitely put them in there, it's been slowing down.

finally following through on my threat to MSPaint something for this thread I drew the beak and a round head first not knowing it was going to be a rooster so the whole head looks insane but it did give me a way to blow some time at the office while the internet was out, so that's a win
