My bold prediction is that the Seattle Seahawks will be as good or even a bit better than they were last year

Lifespan posted:

Look. I get that the preseason is about giving reps to the bench and finding the line between bench and practice squad and cut, but holy poo poo the Rams looked loving dire tonight. If that is their depth... why did Aaron Donald come back?

rjmccall posted:

The Rams sold out to maximize their window with Stafford, and they won a Super Bowl. But yeah, in ‘21 they had no first-rounder, and in ‘22 they had no first- or second-rounder (and their third-rounder was the very end of the round), and in ‘23 they still had no first-rounder. On top of that, they’ve seemingly missed on a lot of the picks they’ve actually had. So yeah, it’s a rough roster outside of the stars.

hello nfc west compatriots.

this division is going to be bad this year compared to most recent years. I think. 49ers might be okay, but not as good as last year, Rams and Cardinals are gonna be utter poo poo. Only team really looking up from what I can tell are the hawks

lmao. indeed, congrats to the trump loving multi millionaire who called colin kaepernick a clown for protesting police violence

Lifespan posted:

I don't think the Seahawks are going to be bad. They still have a lot of talent on that roster despite the clear issues. That said, I think they are going to be a fringe playoff team and part of that is because they play 4 games against the Rams and Cardinals.

seiferguy posted:

So are the Rams just made up of Stafford, Donald, and 51 UDFAs?

Still mad about

- Blowing 7 point 4th quarter league to Kenny loving Pickett
- McVay blowing the timeouts so he couldn't challenge the 4th and short spot
- The idiot refs blowing that spot in the first place
- Maher
- Really soft PI penalties against Witherspoon

Maher had to go, but I'm not impressed with Havrisk's college stat line (zero NFL experience):

XPM 73 XPA 78 XP% 93.6
FGM 34 FGA 53 FG% 64.2

Maher's worse FG% was 66.7% in 2019 (20 for 30)

Havrisk is the best they could get? Yikes.

It's such a shame they couldn't afford to keep Matt Gay.

5.5m AY for a kicker is crazy though

Apparently they signed Havrisk because a glowing recommendation from Matt Gay

Did you see this coming before the season started? Yeah, neither did I.

9-8 is possible. 10-7 would be a miracle.

I was thinking McVay could drag this team to at least six to seven wins overall. 7-7 with 3 weeks left controlling their own playoff destiny seems like a pipe dream. The most surprising part is how well they’ve played against top teams and how well their late round rookies are playing.

I could see the Rams playing Nacua enough on Sunday to grab the rookie receiving records. He needs 4 catches and 29 yards to be number 1 in both categories. McVay has never really given a poo poo about seeding otherwise so it will be a very preseason vibes game.
