I'll edit this if it turns into nothing, but the DC J6 Grand Jury meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For some reason, all the jurors have left for the day, except for the grand jury foreperson.

Possible that an indictment was just voted out, possible that the foreperson is just waiting for an Uber. Guess we'll see!

Voted out as in rejected or voted upon?

Voted upon, as in indictment now exists and has left the grand jury. If the grand jury no billed and denied an indictment, by logic the foreperson wouldn't still be around the courthouse. If they indeed indicted, only the foreperson is needed to process the paperwork (theoretically). So likely approved the indictment.

But my usual non-talking head legal sources haven't really said anything yet, this is all related from TV lawyer sources, which are meh on good days.

Also be wary of all the "well it's just free speech and trump can't be charged for that" nonsense you'll hear too. Apparently like one out of the four counts has a high intent requirement, but even that high requirements doesn't mean "well, you have to prove he didn't believe it". Meant to post this earlier, the Popehat podcast is quite good, but here's his write-up in the lens of media lying about the charges: https://popehat.substack.com/p/people-are-lying-to-you-about-the

The short version is that it's all about the fraudulent slates of electors which proves the falsity/deceit required. Donnie's dumb brain's mental state isn't really important in the DOJ theory of the case, but they still think he could prove it was corrupt intent based on his statements and all the people telling him he was being a loving idiot until he started listening to kooks.

Objecting to the counts on the Senate floor was inbounds (legal process), filing dumb lawsuits was inbounds (legal process), yelling about nonsense was inbounds (1st amendment), but the moment they decided to generate lies and bullshit to specifically deceive the Senate it all went out of bounds and grabbed everything else that flowed from it.

The only two relevant cases close to this was in 1960, when there were three elector slates submitted due to timings of recounts in Hawaii genuinely loving with things. No intent to deceive or lies due to everything going fucky. In 2000, Gore stopped once the Supreme Court killed the lawsuits and that was that.

Dunno if this has been answered elsewhere but how does it work if he’s indicted in DC, Florida, & Georgia, trial wise? Would assume there are some fairness rules about how the trials couldn’t be happening at the same time, do the courts just work that out among themselves?

I'm not able to find much on quick googling (sample here), but the Michael Avenatti case kind of demonstrates how it usually works. Most federal cases take so loving long to actually get to trial that it's usually not a danger. Since DC needs one set of admitted attorneys, Florida another, and Georgia another, the courts work it out at the prompting of the defense.

The key bit are the defense lawyers saying "sorry judge, my client is not available on X dates due to needing to be present for Trial Y". That's absolutely the defense lawyers' job and the courts will give them deference. But "your honor, my client is very busy running a campaign and cannot be present until after 2024" isn't exactly going to earn a court's deference.

That makes sense. On another note is there a possibility if he gets stupid enough to directly threaten the DC judge that he’ll be locked up for contempt pending trial? Would guess that’s possible for any defendant but he has a ridiculously long leash but there must be a limit.

Sadly unlikely. Generally, pretrial detention is only used to ensure someone shows up (if they're a bail-skipper) or to make them stop criming. Donnie's thing is a white-collar case and he's one of the most known people on earth, so a lockup on #1 is unlikely.

So that basically puts him in the Sam Bankman-Fried lane. DOJ is constantly going to the court to try and get him locked up for loving around with witnesses and co-conspirators. But, judges are hesitant to use pretrial lockup because innocent until proven guilty  and it's hard to put together a defense with your lawyers when you're locked up.

The most I'm hoping for is a gag order of some type, but even that's unlikely. It's more constitutional to use pretrial lockup than gag orders because of the first amendment implications of gag orders. But, Donnie could be stupid enough to tapdance on that line and fall over with some threatening nonsense to the judge or a grand jury member!

Completely ignore the NY case. That's probably a fine and suspended sentence at most. White collar first-timers generally don't get jail in cases like those.

Both federal cases are basically 5-10 year sentences based on sentencing guidelines. Neither case is going to qualify as insurrection/rebellion and you can run for president as a felon, so disqualification is not on the table.

The security guard was on board a dinner boat that needed to pull into the pontoon boat's spot. Pontoon boat racists were told not to dock there, but they still did. So security guard leaves the dinner boat and unties the pontoon boat, drawing in the racists. The dinner boat people continue to heckle the racists while the security guard is yelling at them. That's why the security guard looked at the camera (the dinner boat) when he tossed his hat. That's also likely where Scuba Gooding Jr. came from - might've been a boat-jumper.
