surprisingly the claims aren't dead yet and there might be some independent replication and theory behind it. i really hope it's true

As of this morning, there are (as yet not really verified) reports of replication from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China

a team at the Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, and the other is from Sinéad Griffin at Lawrence Berkeley [both] come to very similar [theoretical] conclusions: it could work.

I am guardedly optimistic at this point. I await more replication data
