A day late and a dollar short, but August is the month of the Sealey Challenge! Started in 2017 and circulating social media annually since, in August people try to read a book of poems each day for the month of August. Doing anything every day can be challenging but it helps that many poetry publications are slim little guys that do not take much longer than an hour to read--longer to contemplate on one's own time. I think you should do it. It's a nice way to revisit old favorites and also discover new poets. The challenge website encourages reading marginalized poets but I think any poetry is fine. Engage in poetry!!! Get started today!!! Go to your library or local bookstore and pick up two svelte poetry books and make your favorite beverage and sit down with them. And then post about it here. Let's poems!!!
