Did Punk ever respond to that Mox promo about fragility and weakness?

Never directly, but like how he didn't need to bring it up when Hangman said something for you to know it still affected him, it definitely affected him to the point the next time he ever talked about Moxley it was to call him a selfish idiot with stupid ideas

Previously (like he had also been with Hangman until feeling spurned), he'd only had good things to say about and to Moxley, including addressing the rehab situation during his TV time

Why were they so mad at him?

They really cared about giving Punk the fight and were upset/thought Mike didn't take it seriously, which definitely wasn't helped by the pop for weed that came after

They wound up firing him this January despite him having a fight left on his deal, although it may at least partially have had something to do with Jake Shields fighting him at a training facility last month because Jackson called him a Nazi https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2023/01/ufc-news-mike-jackson-released

He and Dave said from the start this would happen again, were told for a month (especially by posters in the sub) it wouldn’t, and it happened again literally during the preshow

He pointedly avoids crossing dudes he knows would loving truck him lmao, Mox poo poo all over him on live TV and big timed him into jobbing and oddly enough he hasn't pie faced ol JYYYYYYOOOOOOONNNNN yet.

Torch said he was sent home after his match, thus he wasn't able to be backstage to catch Hangman or Moxley after their respective matches. If he had, this would have been (IIRC) the first time he and Moxley were in the same building since Moxley's comments on Renee's podcast (where he said Punk causes way too much bullshit drama, and he bent over backwards to put Punk over in the end despite that)

The funniest part isn't even that everyone but idiots saw this coming again, it's that it happened immediately

Man couldn't even last a full preshow in the same building with all of his enemies

They made Punk leave and had security block him in the meantime so he couldn’t start something with Mox or Hangman too :rubby:

Man went from being maybe my fav wrestler all time to I just want him to stay retired the next time he quits a place. Genuinely sad (but still hilarious obv) he couldn’t contain himself for even one preshow with all the people he dislikes forced to be in the same building as him

https://www.si.com/fannation/wrestling/news/report-cm-punk-jack-perry-incident-leads-to-suspensions

Updates per SI:

Suspension for both confirmed, indefinite pending investigation
Joe talked to Punk after the fight/before the match

Not outright said obviously but given everything else that's come out, it's likely that Joe stepping in like that is the reason (for better or worse) Punk didn't walk out on the show and of the company

Remember when punk knew Hangman wasn’t available to wrestle, then called Hangman out for a rematch, on live tv, to show how much of a scared bitch Hangman was?

I had forgotten about that one, but it’s incredibly funny to me that punk now gets mad for people taking veiled shots at him during a wresting show.

He took a shot at Hangman with the toy comment, at a show he knew Hangman was no longer in the building for, barely 2 weeks ago :rubby:

Dave posted his summary of the brawl. In terms of new stuff:

Someone who wasn't a wrestler but was there said Tony screamed at Punk to let Perry go, and after they were separated/while they were being held back Punk lunged at Tony (which was around the time the monitors fell on him) and shouted "I quit"
People think higher of Joe now for how he handled things/getting Punk into doing the match
Kenny was the only one who said he was ready to go first and made the offer. Tony asked and Bucks weren't, FTR weren't, Ospreay weren't, Jericho wasn't (especially with Fozzy for the entrance). Few if any were told why they were asked to go first because they knew people would be pissed when they found out Punk did this again, but word spread quick after the discussions
Punk's side is the only side saying he left the building on his own/that he wasn't kicked out

"Get through this and then do what you want with the rest of your life, or go through with quitting now and I make sure the rest of your life is measured in seconds, not years/decades"

Punk's been consistent about backing off or undermining as "jokes" the times he actually starts poo poo with someone who could wreck him, and he's absolutely known/respected Joe for long enough to not gently caress with him

One of the things all sides agree on about this situation is Joe was pissed after hearing about Punk trying to bail and thus risking Joe missing out on his first (and potential only) big Wembley match

Was Punk always this difficult? Was there like a turning point where he became insufferable or is it like a boiling frog situation where things happen and you could look away until you couldn't then you look back and you realize that it was always like this?

He was never the "gets into brawls" type in WWE to my knowledge. Had enemies but was capable of being in a same building as them, etc

There's a big enough gap between the Colt podcast happening and Brawl Out that I don't want to say the fallout of that podcast caused it, other stuff we haven't heard of or been able to follow so publicly could have happened, but yeah he definitely did the opposite of "mellow out with age" and it noticeably changed post-WWE. Tolerance way down, paranoia way up
