3-2 in extras? That's nothing to be embarrassed about. If you want embarrassment, try having your starter give up 7 runs in an inning without recording an out.

If that was a home run then the M's actually won the west by 5-6 games. Enjoy your 30*-30, Kyle. Would think Astros would be weary of asterisks by now.

They need an HR version of indifference like when a team lets a guy steal 2nd cause his run won't count anyway.

Now that the season is over, I think a personal goal for 2024 would be to attend a game in the bleachers. Usually when I go to my once a year Wrigley trip, I use a relative’s season pass that’s in the shade, but the bleachers always looks fun.

I also want to go to Winterland over at Gallagher Way again. I had a good time last year.

This is an extremely weird thing to get hung up on, especially since it was played in Phoenix so the Astros had nothing to do with how it was scored

I thought position players weren't allowed to pitch anymore unless the lead met some threshold

also lol at the levels of not giving a poo poo, having a position player pitch in a tied gamein extras. and then a wild pitch on a 62 mph fastball, just incredible

There's three criteria of which only one must be met to let a position player pitch:

1. Game in extras
2. trailing by 8+ runs at any time
3. Leading by 10+ in the ninth

You just almost never see the extras thing because most times teams are trying to win, and with the ghost runner you're way less likely to get a 15+ inning game that runs your bullpen dry

I try to do one bleacher game per year and it's always a good time. You gotta get there when the park opens if you want seats close to the field, though. The food in the bleachers is better than anywhere else in the park, too. One of the last places in Chicago where you can still get Hot Doug's.

I appreciate that the bleachers are general seating, but it’s always kind of annoying because I feel like you always have to keep someone around to save seats if you get up.

Always funny to see people new to the bleachers show up right before the game and realize they’re about to get stuck in the back, or even stand, for the whole game.

Atlanta tied the MLB mark with 307 homers in a year. They likely would have broken it had the rest of the NL East not collapsed upon itself.

Usual lineup homer, RBI totals
Ronald Acuna Jr: 41, 106
Ozzie Albies: 33, 109
Austin Riley: 37, 97
Matt Olson: 54, 139
Marcell Ozuna: 40, 100 (homered twice and drove in four today)
Sean Murphy: 21, 68
Eddie Rosario: 21, 74
Orlando Arcia: 17, 65
Michael Harris II: 18, 57

Acuna and Mookie Betts tied with 8.4 WAR.
