Hmm, will anyone go to bat for the Sugarcubes?

This was Bjork's band before her solo career. One song is amazing, Birthday, but every other song I've heard always includes a verse sung by some other dude in the band which kinda ruins whatever they were going for imo

I had only previously heard Birthday and yeah I really like it but hadn't heard anything else. checked out their #2 song on Spotify, Hit. Didn't know about the intro, it kind of felt like nothing was really meshing at first though the bassline slaps. Then Bjork comes in and it all instantly clicked and was great for awhile then that guy starts rapping and holy gently caress that bit was awful. then the guy mercifully stops rapping and bjork comes back in and then the rest of the song cotinues being great. I'm going to keep listening because bjork sounds great here but yeah that guy ruins the vibe every time he pipes up

e: this is a loving ride, someone so talented paired with the guy everyone else is too polite to kick out of the band

I was gonna post Mexico by Incubus but then I remember that I loved their first album and a couple things off Aqueous Transmission. They might still be a band that sucks but I liked too much of their work.

yeah I'm pretty torn on incubus, they had a bunch of good songs across science, make yourself, and morning view then I think the original bassist left and they kind of fell off hard creatively after that

Everclear gave me the thought that The Offspring could probably be in this thread but I don’t think they actually have any good songs

Gone Away and The Kids Aren't Alright are pretty good, I feel like there's a couple more but not many

I have nothing against pearl jam and eddie's supposedly a really good dude but Last Kiss was a crime against humanity and then radio perpetuated it by playing it all the loving time back in the day
