Scores! Kevino07 saved the best for last with the best score of the season, nailing a mega Minerals hit for 70 bonus points. Acebuckeye13 also hit on their Minerals token for 35 bonus points, while WaffleZombie and Grittybeard unfortunately didn't score highly enough so they end up down at the bottom of the table.

Since it's the last week, I'll leave these scores up for a day or so to give people time to catch any mistakes I may have made. I'll correct/finalise them at that time and post the final standings.

We made it! The regular season was really competitive and the playoff seeding really came down to the final week. Thanks to everyone for playing, hopefully you had fun!

If you missed out on a playoffs spot this year, there's always next year! Unless you're the Jets, in which case the playoffs are a distant memory and the regular season hamster wheel never changes.

Special rules for this week

We're in the first round of the playoffs so the rules this week are a little different from a normal week. The full structure is described at the bottom of this post. In summary:

Leperflesh, Acebuckeye13, and myself earned Contender spots. Each player receives one each of the three Normal tokens (Professor, Donald, Shadow), so three tokens in total.
Okibi, seiferguy, Kevino07 and totally losing my mime earned Wildcard spots. Each player receives only one Normal token. You are free to choose which of the above three tokens that you want to use, and there's no need to tell me in advance - just include your chosen Normal token in your entry when you want to use it. Once you use a Normal token, you cannot use another Normal token for the remainder of the playoffs.
No other tokens can be used. Any tokens remaining at the end of the regular season have expired.
All seven players submit an entry as per the regular rules. Scoring will be carried out as per the regular rules as well - there are no bonus points available during the playoffs.
The top-scoring Contender earns a bye week and advances directly to the final (Conference) round. The remaining Contenders advance to the second (Divisional) round.
The two top-scoring Wildcards advance to the second (Divisional) round. The remaining Wildcards are eliminated from the playoffs.
Note that there is no requirement for Contenders to score better than Wildcards this week - the rules for advancement are the same. Contenders are only competing against other Contenders, and Wildcards against Wildcards.

Quick notes

There are two games on Saturday this week - take this into account when submitting your entry.

Unlike the last couple of weeks there's a playoff game on Monday night (PHI @ TB), so that's the BBQ# game this week.

Rules for the Playoffs

The structure is described below.

The top 7 players will gain entry into the playoffs.
The 7 players will be split into two groups - the top three (the Contenders group), and the bottom four (the Wildcards group). Ranking is based on the total number of points accrued during the regular season.
Contenders will each receive three Normal tokens - Donald, Professor, and Shadow - to use during the playoffs. Wildcards will receive one Normal token of their choice. All other tokens will be unavailable. All regular season tokens will expire at the end of the regular season and cannot be carried into the playoffs.
The three playoff rounds will proceed as follows:
- Round 1 - WILDCARD
  - In the first playoff round (Wildcard) all 7 players will submit an entry, however each group will compete separately i.e each player's score will be ranked only against the other members of their group.
  - In the Contenders group, the top scoring player will advance directly to the third and final round of the playoffs. The other two players will advance to the second round (Divisional).
  - In the Wildcards group, the two top scoring players will advance to the second round, and the bottom two players will be eliminated.
- Round 2 - DIVISIONAL
  - Four players will compete in the second round - the top two from the Wildcards group, and the bottom two from the Contenders group.
  - The two top scoring players will advance to the final round, and the bottom two players will be eliminated.
- Round 3 - CONFERENCE
  - Three players will compete in the third round - the top scorer from the Contenders group from Round 1, and the top two from Round 2.
  - The top scoring player will be crowned the 1KYOB 2023 Champion!

The pre-BBQ totals are below. It's looking pretty close in the Contenders group with all three players in good positions and in play for the top spot and a bye. In the Wildcards group there's a bigger spread but there's some cannons in there that can easily close the gap. seiferguy has the toughest road into the Divisional round, needing Jalen Hurts to score more than 383 yards and Mayfield to have a rough game to have a chance at sneaking into the top two in the bracket.

And since I'm writing this on a Tuesday and we already know all the results, here's the final standings for the week! Rachaad White ran a little bit too far for my entry, but fortunately Donald stepped in and shut him down and D'Andre Swift did not put up enough yards to push Acebuckeye13 into the top spot. I earn a bye week, while Acebuckeye13 and Leperflesh advance to the Divisional round to face the top two Wildcards, Kevino07 and Okibi. On the other side of the beatdown were the other three Wildcards, with Okibi only saved by a strong pre-BBQ game performance.

Divisional round results! The pre-BBQ game numbers are up first. Okibi was ahead by a length going into the final game, with Leperflesh close behind. Further back was Acebuckeye13 however with Josh Allen in the pocket anything could happen. Kevino07 unfortunately had busted already by this stage thanks to Mike Evans, Lamar Jackson and Aaron Jones all having great performances.

And here we are with the final results. Stefon Diggs faltered down the stretch allowing Leperflesh to pull into the top spot on the back of a solid Pacheco game. Josh Allen couldn't do quite enough for Acebuckeye13 to reach the top two, and since Pacheco unfortunately did not run backwards all game Kevino07 remains the only bust of the week.

Nice! This is definitely the deepest run I've had with 1KYOB.

Next weekend sucks a lot though. There's really not enough guys now. My entire strategy for the year (thesis: RBs have the lowest volatility, use all running to get the most consistent results) gets worse the fewer NFL games are played.

How this week works

Leperflesh, Okibi and me will compete as per the regular playoff rules (with one important exception, see below), with the winner being crowned the 1KYOB 2023 champion!

The exception: this week there is no 'MNF' game, your BBQ player can come from either game, and you can use other players from the same game as your BBQ player. You must still nominate one player as your BBQ player for the Conference round, for the purpose of token calculations.
