camera bump is dumb as poo poo. A phone is effectively as thick as its thickest part, so just make it that thick all over and fill it with battery and have 4 days of talk time.

i use the level on my phone (way) more than bubble levels. but the strange world of keeping an old phone charged for leveling purposes seems terrible. i guess i could buy a digital one or something but that also seems non-ideal

haven’t used a case on a phone ever. last i-prefixed device i damaged by dropping it was a pod, not a phone, some 20 years ago

i feel like they could make a pretty decent battery case that used a flat cell below the camera wart and dead air next to it, but it would probably not be magsafe compatible

the 5 did not have a touchid home button and the 5s/SE did but otherwise the three were physically identical

yeah but the se also had the guts of a much larger, faster phone. it was nearly perfect. the design of the 5/5s was really good but they were pretty slow phones after a few releases. the se was incredibly long lived in comparison

just stuff an oled and iphone 14 or 15 guts in there and i'll be happy tim

e: i had originally thought that the 5/s was 32-bit but i really don't think so. don't feel like looking it up anyway lol

do some of you actually paw at your phones while they're sitting flat on a desktop? Genuinely curious.

with the size of the edge of camera protective ridges on cases, it doesn't even matter if my phone is on the desk. what am i hard pressing in the upper left?

Beeftweeter posted:

the 5 murdered out was my favorite after the 4. just a really nice frame design that went on for a good few models

i got a magsafe ring thing and it wobbles more with it flat on the desk than not lol

ha i have an iphone 6 in the garage plugged in to my stereo. idk how long the battery lasts unplugged, it might literally not work. it has a cracked screen but i put a protector on it and it works ok.

the problem in my case is my phone will fall out of my pocket when i'm sitting. i go caseless as well and i just broke the rear glass last week as it fell out of my pocket onto sharp gravel while i was sitting at a picnic bench

i use this thing from amazon and it works well, the magnet is pretty strong so you have to put a little work into getting it off but it stays put.

bought just for the new clock feature.
