Tombstone, Arizona

A lot of buildings on Main Street aren’t original, but made up to look like Tombstone in the late 1800s. Lots of period-costumed townsfolk reenacting daily life in a comical fashion, and a frequent reenactment of the shootout at the OK Corral, which I remember isn’t even the real or original OK Corral or place of the infamous shootout.

The Bird Cage Theater was pretty cool, but it’s just a kitschy tourist trap for people who like old westerns.

Old Tucson was a way more enjoyable visit, being essentially a self-contained theme park/museum rather than a shitload of kitsch shops like Tombstone.

I loving LIVED in Tombstone. The dudes re-enacting the shootout are local drunks for whom the locals found at least something marginally useful to do.

As for places I visited off the top of my head:

Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi - unless you are a Ferrari fan this place is useless and boring
The Louvre in Abu Dhabi on Yas Island - mindblowingly awesome. Emiratis did not hold back on this thing, splurged with reckless abandon even the building itself is a work of art. There is a constant exposition and smaller thematic temporary ones. Constant exposition is set up in chronological order from Egyptian sarcofagi to ancient Greece, Rome and throughout history to modern art. There is an absolutely gorgeous statue of Athena, busts of Roman emperors, Augustus, etc. When I visited the temporary exposition was a comparison of Crusader weapons and armor and that of Arab warriors of the same time period and locality. A neat idea to show them together and quite interesting. Even the gift shop is full of neat crap, such as skateboards with various works of art printed on them.

Batu caves in Kuala Lumpur, they are enormous, beautiful shrines and temples built right inside the cave, a must visit if you are in Kuala Lumpur, especially because it is inside the city no need to even travel anywhere.

Svaneti region in Georgia, this place is like Narnia inhabited by Georgian highlanders and horses

Trundle Manor is a proud tourist trap that's actually worth your time:

https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/pennsylvania/pittsburgh/tourist-trap-pittsburgh/

It's a mansion full of weird stuff; taxidermy, old medical supplies, just unique stuff ranging from complete junk to actual art. You have to text or call the home owners to make an appointment, but they're extremely nice and the tour itself is free, although they do ask for donations.

i went to the Warrens' Occult Museum and taunted the Raggedy Annabelle and died a day later. The place has the charm of a dusty antique store.

Visited the same pirate museum in Salem mentioned in the OP and really enjoyed the guided tour and lovely wax figures. Did a bunch of the witch museums too, which were also cool.

House On The Rock was loving cool and a great way to spend a drunk afternoon. Lots of stuff to look at and go "huh, neat" then forget about moments later

Tree In The Middle of the Road was a tree in the middle of a road. 10/10, no notes. Backed my car around it 3 times and a ghost car was supposed to show up and kill me or something but didn't.

Broke into Bachelor's Grove when i was a teenager and took a bunch of awful gothy photos which I'm glad have been lost to time.

Oh, and you can still see all the H.H. Holmes stuff around Chicago, which is just vacant lots and a post office. There's a Weird Chicago bus tour that i used to recommend to people who were visiting but i have no idea if it still runs since i don't live there anymore. The dude who ran it was pretty cool and had a lot of cool stories though.
