Does this thread include car audio?

I built a box for 2 Kicker 10s wired to 4 ohm on a Boss Audio 1100. To me it feels like they're just not hitting that hard, and I'm wondering if it's because the box is close to 2.8 cu-ft. Is it possible for the box to be too big?
Are you familiar with how to set up a car audio amp, like setting the gain and crossovers? That box might be kinda big for two 10"s, but that shouldn't cause it to be really quiet unless it's a ported box missing the tubes or something weird.
