Bignatz starts out day 7 quite pleased. It took a lot of effort to retrieve everything from the dark woods but he feels like he's starting to help out. Hardefeest can definitely use the salt. The stake gun is too heavy and the recoil too unwieldy for him to be a decent shot with it, but it's sure to suit one of the hunters. Plus, the woodcraft equipment should help keep the supply of ammo well stocked. The old coin is seemingly much more than the lucky charm that he took it for and...
His ears droop and he sulks at the thought of the magic stick. A witches wand is something not easily trusted. It's not the film flam and sleight of hand that he saw so much of in the circus, but real magic. Dangerous in the wrong hands.
He contemplates throwing it away, but he knows in his heart that he'd only chase right after it. With this, there's a real chance he can help take the fight directly to The Count. He and the Dr. were largely successful in making a lure for the zombies, but what if they shuffle right back once the bait is gone?
He thinks up a plan to take them out permanently.
Day 8: Bignatz uses some of the remaining silver to accentuate the boombox. Then enchants it with the magic stick so that henceforth any tune played through it will resonate with the power of the precious metal.
Night 8: Bignatz uses the enchanted boom box to dance the zombies to dust via the horror of The Thriller.
Day 9: Bignatz heads into town in an attempt to sniff out what happened to the supply of garlic.
Night 9: Bignatz attempts to determine who, or what the intruders which sneak around the manse are without directly engaging them. Getting eyes on them would be great, but he hopes to at least get their scent.

"Whoop - there it is!" Treena trilled, as she turned the corner and found the community-run tool-loaning storehouse.

Dismantling things the slow way with tools was not Treena's forte but she was on a mission. Those horrible pig-faced demons from her bloodtrance in the vampire kitchens last night (wait, ...that Carne-fex Al Pastor was actually Chef Hartefeest all along??? Uh, nevermind...) had nonetheless gotten Treena thinking that she'd like to bring along some kind of awful meat grinding machinery to use against the monsters next time!

She just wanted to rest up, get a good shower and a little shaving in, and a square meal that isn't squirming meat or tendrils for once.

Also, there was a dog-man to let in!

"Hello?..!" Treena said to the ugly lost-looking guy (Bignatz) camped outside the back door of the Old House. "You don't have to stay outside if you're cold and hungry dude, but it IS nice to have someone on night-watch..."

"Name's Treena... Hungry? Think we've got some cooked chicken in the fridge."

"Fuckin' Kevin man, legend right there."

Day 10

With the help of engineering students and anyone else, they attempt to rig various launchers and projectile-firing weapons to the Dragula. Holy water bomb launcher, stake shooters, several winches and a nice minibar. All essential monster-hunting tools.

Night 10

This Dragula is where it's at, and they decide to play escort, chauffer and combat backup to any of the team that need it. No matter how dangerous or ill advised.

And highballs. It's a fuckin' classy night, and you can't go right back into SHOTS. SHOTS. SHOTS SHOTS right after a nice, calm, detoxifying and debauched sabbatical. It's just poor form.

Fantastic cocktails for the group, laced with holy water and fine flakes of silver to give the supple tender human(and otherwise) bodies some sort of resistance to the various fluids and punctures and violent exsanguinations said bodies are so often subjected to in this line of work.

That bloodtrance of Treena's was acting up something fierce while she was attacking Drac's Garage. In fact, it was going so hard and wild for the young weredeer woman that she was starting to dissociate the words she wanted to say from their literal dictionary meanings and to instead express them emotionally as punches and kicks thrown against a bunch of demonic greasemonkeys defending the vampiric garage's oil pits.

Finally, as she was finishing punching out the words for "DEER IN HEADLIGHTS" into a zombie's face, their literal meaning struck Treena thoughts all at once in translation. The weredeer girl froze for a moment before she snapped and fled into the courtyard for the streets, to safety.

"gently caress, that sucked," Treena said to the vampire hunter that found her chilling on the stoop of the Old House later. "Sorry I bolted like that, had a weirdly intrusive thought bust me up alliuva sudden... gently caress the vamps, right?"

That was about the point when Treena noticed that 𝕮𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖑𝖊 𝕯𝖗𝖆𝖈𝖚𝖑𝖆 seemed larger and more ominous on the city's skyline, somehow...

"Guh..." she groaned. "I'm going in for more? Cya - same time tomorrow night..."

Fresh on the heels of the hunters' latest successful sortie against The Count, Bignatz warily eyeballs their dwindling supplies. The silver from the mine still looks in good supply, but the holy water has about run dry. Plus, it seems the local clergy is no help until ~November??

Then there's Ottone Visconti. Bignatz can't seem to get many straight answers as to the Signore and that's another worry. His crew rolls in predawn and then departs with the garlic to satisfy "their thing".

Bignatz yawns with disgust. The hunters need a stronger supply line if they're going to continue the fight against The Count. He discards his tattered motley for the most refined fit he can assemble at the manse.

Chef Hartefeest, our new friend Bignatz can't go to see Ottone like this. He's all skin and bones... and dogs are supposed to hide their bones!
Day 11: Make him a meal with body, something that really sticks to your ribs. Then, help get him looking sharp before he leaves for his visit this morning. He can go out the door and really let his big natz swang.
There should hopefully be time to make plenty more food to fatten the rest of the crew before they go out for the night. You know, the kind of food that bulks you up like nature's armor.

Bob from Accounting

”What a night!” Bob exclaims. “I’m really starting to feel like a hunter, even if my purpose here is somewhat different than the others.” he thinks to himself.

Day 11
Feeling the need for a variety of ammunition, Bob from Accounting spends the day attempting to make silver bullets for his revolver from some of the leftover silver. He also carefully pours some holy water in a vial that can be shot from his revolver alongside his vial of zombie lure. Finally, Bob fashions a belt to hold his ammunition.

Night 11
Feeling pretty well prepared and taking the same gear as the night before (with the addition of the new ammunition if successful), Bob from Accounting will attempt to raid the castle’s library. Bob is on the lookout for rare books and/or books with information about the castle or The Count.

She didn't give a gently caress TBQH unless it was really spicy...

A short while later, Treena waved a molotov cocktail and a bic lighter in each of her hands as she shouted out:

Van and Dan

After the successful raid and escape full of derring-do, the brothers expertly fix up some drinks from the minibar as they burn undead rubber back to the shop, making sure everyone has a toast to their success while dodging fright-filled citizens coming out as early in the morning as they can, to avoid those terrors in the night. To get stuff done, to prepare for another harrowing eve.

And to go to work. Just because Dracula is threatening to engulf the world with his soul of molten pitch, doesn't mean you can work from home. And we'll need to put in some extra hours to make up for the drained corpses of your former co-workers. We'll get around to revoking their badges when we can. I don't care if you have to take the bus home while the sun is setting, our investors need a one percent bump in their quarterly earnings report!

Well, at least those civilians have medical insurance.

Day 11
They put the Dragula into the ever more complete pseudo-shop out of the Victorian House's garage. And work on fashioning or acquiring some grapnel guns to get them into the upper levels of the main hall. When the team is ready to more deeply hit.

They eat heartily of Hartefeest's feast, fueled up. They pass a few of the PatT pills out to whoever's getting in the poo poo tonight.

Night 11
"Bob, 'reena? You two got the right idea." Dan says. "Gather intel, burn the rest to deny the enemy. Do you have military training or something?" Van asks the two fellow hunters. Clearly Bob has found a calling he might not have known about. Treena? Well, she came looking like she was always bashin' heads. And soft, desiccated undead skulls.

The brothers accompany Bob and Treena. Would the Dragula help get them out of the next scrape, live to see the next night of macabre fright? Tune in and find out, viewer!

You're able to track down the expensive and pricy Apartments of the Viscount. They're suspiciously close to Castle Dracula, but surely this is coincidental and in no way related. Or maybe the best place to hide is sometimes right under the nose of your enemy?

Done somewhat easily. You gotta really blowtorch the silver and put it in with some pencils (the burning carbon gives a reducing atmosphere to make sure it doesn't tarnish)

You're waiting and ready and as soon as the gate starts to open you punch it. After fighting thru some ez monsters, you enter the library

There's nothing here. Monster or ghost wise or anything. Just books and dust. Spooky witchlights shine in thru the windows.
Rounding the corner you perceive what may be a serious problem

A dead guy in rich clothes. You better hope this isn't 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕮𝖔𝖚𝖓𝖙. He doesn't move. In fact prodding him he just falls over and crumbles into dust. Gross.

Looking thru the stacks, Bob pulls a book, and something wakes up

The Librarian's Pet appears and even though you set the place on fire you're forced to retreat.

All you're able to recover is an early print of some book titled Carmilla. If you come back here you better figure out a way to deal with that thing, not your everyday monster. Incredibly strong and was barely injured. And it was totally silent...

Meanwhile Bignatz guards the this old house. Your keen senses pick up an :siren: intruder alert :siren:

"Well well well." "Somebody left their helpless pet out?" "We better take care of this before somebody calls PETA!"
Luckily these boners are naturally weak vs the dogfaced and you're able to fight them until close to dawn, when the dragula pulls around the corner

"We'll see how Big those Natz is next time, rear end in a top hat"
The remaining skeletons escape and the sun comes up, evaporating any remains or loot they might have left.

Everyone's injured.

Van and Dan

"Just how many different fuggin' creatures ARE there? Pick a loving lane, Dra-cula!" Dan yells while they fight off the next abomination, the next nightmare they'll have to drown in quality booze, quality drugs and cheap sex.

Van seems like he's having a love affair with their Dragula. He can be seen whispering sweet nothings to it at times, caressing that rainbow-reinforced unholy metal, rendered into one of humanity's last hopes with love and the power of friendship. And rainbows.

"Hey, Bob, can you make sense of this book?" Dan passes the Carmilla to him.

Day 12
Healing up from fighting horrendous monstrosities is much like getting over SARs, just with more bandages. The chicken noodle soup is a delight, and Van even lets Dragula sup on some of it.

Night 12
They go with Bignatz (or by themselves) to see Ottone Visconti about securing an alliance and some better Dracula-busting supplies. At this point they are loathe to go anywhere in this godforsaken city without Dragula to help them dig through the ditches which are increasingly full of corpses.

The Library hit was a bust, even though the molotovs Treena brought worked out their burnination magic in the end... they did manage to score one book of interest - a novel, not a magic tome or anything.

"Car - Milluh?" Treena attempted to pronounce, after having yoinked the book for inspection.

The name of the book's author name was Sheridan le Falu or something (the cover was a little scuffed and faded) but the opening pages listed the printing date at 1872. Wow.

"poo poo, no, wait - it's probably 'Car Me-Ya'. Kinda cute if that's, like, a girl's name, or something..."

This could be a clue into Dracula's psyche, if not his feelings towards past lovers? Treena assumed this might be a ...book that might hint at how Dracula predates on fair maidens. How tawdry!

"Um I'm gonna read this for clues if that's okay." Treena said to the team on the way back, stonefaced.

Treena, Day 12:

While chilling on a sofa in the living room, Treena gets a few chapters in to Carmilla before the nature of the relationships presented in it fully sinks in:

She continued reading, maybe a smidge faster.

Despite the harrowing night, this morning feels like good times, nood soup. Bignatz breathes a sigh. The hunters, all together. He would do anything for them.

His eyes still roll at the task ahead. A legendary monster in the library, intruders on the back lawn (Bignatz is absolutely aghast), and of course, Ottone Visconti.

Living or undead, Visconti is the #2 man in the burg right now. #1 more like when Drac ain't in town. Visconti has obviously seen how much hell we can raise, but he's also never lifted a finger to aid The Count. Thankfully, the Wildsing Bros will attend the initial talks. Keep the Dragula warm, my friends!

Day 12: Bignatz recovers while enjoying the company of the Hunters. He concentrates hard using the magic stick to enchant Hardefeest's spud gun to be able to switch between suck/blow at a whim.

Night 12: Bignatz rolls in with the Wildsing Bros. to parley with Ottone Visconti.

Bob takes the Carmilla book from Van and Dan. “Hmm, can’t say I’ve heard of this one. Looks…fascinating.” Bob notices Treena eyeing the book eagerly. “Perhaps you’d like to have a look?” Bob hands the book over to Treena.

You explain your presence here, and the viscount is intrigued. Long has Ottone hated the loathesome and obscene tyrant Drăculea, and nothing would please him more than to see the so-called count destroyed. In fact he has conducted several extremely expensive alchemical experiments, concentrating all available garlic to produce a material for this very purpose. Unfortunately, they've proven dangerous and remain incomplete at this time. Even further, he's discovered a secret passage that connects these very apartments of his to the second floor of the main hall, which will provide access to Drac's Throneroom.

The extremely rich, and extremely not-suspicious in any way viscount will instruct his people to allow you access to his chambers during the day, even though he rarely accepts visitors at such a time (due to his focus on alchemy ofc). When the time is right, and you feel capable of defeating that evil one, this route may prove useful. And furthermore, he will notify you immediately when the experiments finally bear fruit.

Stoner Sloth

It has long been speculated by arcane scholars that the shifting, eldritch nature of Dracula's Castle draws all sorts of entities from across the vast reaches of time and space (and other places less well known) like the warmth of a porch light calls out to weary and hungering travelers on a cold winters eve.

As such it should perhaps be no surprise that some bizarre thing has been observing from alien dimensions that occasionally run adjacent to our own. The ancient being is not something comprehensible or compatible in its native form with our realms of existence - spreading out across many alien realities like a vast network of fungal hyphae on a sodden carpet - but it is able to produce a form that it can observe and effect events and, more relevantly, that it can use to feed...

And so, thirteen minutes and thirteen seconds after midnight on the thirteenth day, in a nearby barn there comes a curious sound not entirely dissimilar to a choir of cattle sized gerbils or perhaps gerbil sized cattle (as run through autotune and played backwards to reveal hidden messages) combined with the smell of burning shoe leather and ambergris. Simultaneously substance flows into the thin air of the night from... Elsewhere... forming a shape as pouring if into a pre-existing mold.

Filling in from the ground up it takes form within a fraction of a moment, grotesque flesh bubbling up and firming into the gnarled and wrinkled apparition of an almost impossibly ancient man or perhaps a tall and wizened gnome. Stumbling wildly in its first moments of existence in this plane it bumps into, and startles, a slumbering hen causing it to flap and squawk in surprise. "Pardon me, madam." the being comments, doffing its hat formally. As the surprised bird flutters overhead it drops an egg in shock which smashes on the head of a tired cow, blinding it momentarily and causing it to kick out in shock. This in turn dislodges a lit lantern that spills burning oil into the dry and inflammable hay...

The entity has been given many names, though only a scant few capable of utterance by mortal tongues, Devourer of Fates, The Terrible Old Man, Ruin of Empires, Destroyer of Worlds, The Sightless Beast of a Thousand Misfortunes, and The Bane of Optometrists to name but a few. But it chuckles to itself, seemingly oblivious the to escalating chaos left in its wake as it wanders from the growing inferno, and uses its preferred moniker as it mutters "Oh Mi-Go, you've done it again."

Taking the secret entrance to Dracula's basement through the flooded silver mines was far too dark and lonely for Treena to attempt alone, but try it she did.

The monsters down there were worse inside, too, and there were a couple times where she could have bit it from being swung at when her back was turned...

She'd wanted a little distance from all those gross boys in the vamp-hunting crew to process her thoughts on Carmilla, but to be quite honest all she'd done was get her favorite jersey shredded and bloodied in the process..
Treena, herself, was feeling pretty shredded by the time she made it out of the silver mine again, somehow still in one piece... well...

Treena snapped a small piece of broken weredeer antler off her head that was still dangling on a strand of antler velvet. Ick, but also whatever - this stuff grows back pretty fast.

On her morning shuffle home she was thinking about a backpack full of batteries for powering floodlamps or power tools, but she also knew that self-repair would have to come first.

Van and Dan Wildsing

A rest and recoup, that's what the brothers need, and get. Soup and friends and that sweet, sweet piece of a.. automobile, that Van has seemed increasingly drawn too, spending most of his time with beloved Dragula. Even when on-mission he seems reluctant to leave her.. it. It's concerning, but his brother has seen Van obsessed with far less beautiful amalgamations of necromancy, engineering and pure ol' fashioned horsepower.

Van has become infatuated with Dragula.

Day 13
With their knowledge of various.. chemical mood enhancers, the brothers see if they can lend their skills to help Count Ottone with his alchemical research. They pop a couple Party all the Time pills to enhance their brainpower. Speed and MDMA and the 'secret spices' is a hell of a drug.

Night 14
Van absconds with Dragula for a spin in the foggy moonlight. Interpret that as you will. He tries to form a bond that even the master of evil and night himself cannot ever break. A bond that transcends life and death.

Dan takes up guard duty for the Victorian House. It wouldn't be surprising if Dracula started really pushing back and trying to root out the thorn of good in his side.

Bob from Accounting

”A giant eagle or a snake? Where the heck am I going to find one of those?” Bob exclaimed. The zoologist just shrugged and sauntered off towards the koala exhibit.

That night Bob dreamt about a giant bat fighting against a giant eagle, the hunters below, reeking havoc in The Castle. Glorious.

The next morning Bob discussed Ottone Visconti’s offer with the others in The Old House. “Seems suspicious if you ask me. Rich guys like that don’t just give you things for free. There’s something he’s hiding…”

Day 13
Still thinking of the bat vs. eagle battle, Bob from Accounting makes some calls to exotic pet shops, and bird breeders looking to purchase a large pet eagle to stay in the Old House and join the hunters for raids.

Night 13
Bob travels to Ottone Visconti’s home offering his accounting services at a very reasonable price. He tells Ottone that he can make him a great deal of money. Bob wants to deeply examine Ottone’s finances and assets to discover what he may be hiding. Additionally, if hired, Bob will use his embezzle skill to siphon off a large amount of Ottone’s money into his own personal overseas account.

Night 13 It will probably follow along with whoever it randomly encounters, this may add complications or benefits to whoever that happens to be.
