If it winds up being Bellator's last show, it is the most Bellator exit possible to have 4 advertised title fights with half of them blown up days before

Thats gotta be a first right for me, I've never seen someone hop back on to weight cutting and putting more weight on instead, that's incredible

I want to say I've heard of it happening before, but only in miniscule amounts (.1-.3 lbs). Almost 2 full pounds is :psyduck:

We're one month into the TKO era and the biggest title rematch in the company is happening on a week's notice as a late replacement fight, Khamzat Chimaev is fighting Kamaru Usman for a top ranking at middleweight, the UFC is preparing to enter Saudi Arabia and strict drug testing is dead.

Most of the card wasn't bad, actually. Barboza/Yusuff, Martinez/Yanez and Elkins/Brown were the most fun altogether fights, Pereira/Petroski and McKinney/Marotte were the most fun fights that could've been gifs.

Also, on the topic of Bellator being sold off, I guess this is probably why:

Kind of wild to be one of the only networks getting OUT of the live sports model in 2023, but go with god, I guess.

Sad to see HBO, ESPN's Friday Night Fights, and Showtime each quit airing boxing over the recent years :smith:

Buddy, Dana is waiting for the day he gets to charge fighters for the privilege of fighting inside the world famous octagon sponsored by the Orphan Grinding Machine

The Apex will definitely be the trial balloon for this someday. Fighting for them and in their facility, it makes too much sense, practically giving away benefits at that point

How is stipe the only interesting fight for jones? Do you think he's cleared out the division with a single fight?

With how much he's been talking about retirement soon even before this injury (another major one for him, and ensuring he can't even try to fight again until he's 37), it's unlikely he's accepting a fight he sincerely believes he'll lose for what is probably his final fight. In terms of fights that leaves open (a scrub, Ngannou which ain't happening, the interim scrub winner, and Miocic), Miocic's closest to what'll happen that could result in Jon losing, but also even older and even more banged up than Jon, but also that makes a loss funnier

By far the funniest and most damaging-to-Dana result possible
