I have a history of colon cancer in my family (one dead grandmother at a relatively young age, multiple polips have already been removed with my mother), and doctors recommend me to have an inspection every 5 years. I've had the procedure twice, once fully anaesthesised and once where they gave me something that sort of took me out of it (after the procedure I had vague memories of looking at a screen and seeing what they were doing, but I don't actually remember anything.) In both cases the procedure itself was no issue whatsoever, no pain afterwards, nothing.

I do passionately hate the disgusting liquid you have to drink the day before to prepare your colon for the procedure. God I hate it so much.
