I've been trying to squeeze Super Mario Bros world 1-1 into a 250kb gif and I can get it pretty small but not small enough.  Here's a 180 pixel wide version which is 590kb:  Here's a version which is under 250kb but is hilariously teensy:  If anyone else wants to take a crack at it feel free!
