I think saying that mixup lead directly to the goal is a bit of a stretch, they’re taking each other out of the play and there isn’t a hole on the Leafs side until Liljegren chases the puck into the neutral zone and doesn’t win it.

It didn't lead to the goal because the player involved is Bertuzzi, who is a Max Landis-esque loser and wouldn't have meaningfully done anything defensively there.

I don’t even care about there not being a whistle on the play, this shot is so harmless that saying anything caused it but poo poo goaltending is just misguided imo https://x.com/atfulemin/status/1783477971765932359?s=46&t=HQKtcRjDK4S81BLV4tbVnw

i guess the one upside is that streaming services are usually a little easier to cancel than doing whatever blood ritual you have to do to get away from Xfinity cable

I happened to be looking through the playoff stats leaders and LMAO at the fact that of the top 10 players in penalty minutes 9 of them are involved in the NYI/CAR series. 6 of them Islanders and 3 of them Hurricanes. Only Tom Wilson was able to crack the top ten from another series.

At all times Vegas either had control of the puck or was successfully disrupting Dallas's control of the puck.

At all times Vegas either had control of the puck or was successfully disrupting Dallas's control of the puck. The composition is different, but they remind me somewhat of the McLellan era Sharks. Lots of talent (Sharks were more top heavy, Stats are deeper), but a lack of overall team speed. The talent tipped the scale in the one-offs of the regular season, but over the course of a playoff series the lack of speed ceded the initiative to the opposition, let to the team chasing defensively / losing 50-50 battles, and suffocated offense through exhaustion.
