I don't know that I see Nashville doing much this year along with the Blues. They're both going to win enough games to be a pain to the rest of the Central, but they're not going to be consistently good enough to be anything but an outsider. Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota, and Winnipeg are likely going to be the top 4 in some order and it's going to be interesting to see if Chicago or Arizona will be the worst this season now that there's nothing to tank for.

Macklin Celebrini isn't at the same level as Bedard, but he's still a very very good prospect that is probably worth tanking for. There will be competition with San Jose for the best odds at him, though.

Logan Cooley had 2 assists in his NHL debut, a secondary on a power play and a beautiful primary on the game-tying goal. But he could've easily had 3 more assists if his teammates finished off some of his other incredible setups. He looks legit.

The Coyotes coming back and beating the Devils in New Jersey is a very positive sign but I'll wait until January and after they play a good team not on a back to back before considering them legit. But ooh man I'm excited for the Coyotes again.

So, Arizona is pretty good?

I'm still waiting until January to declare them good, but they're infinitely more watchable than seasons past. Logan Cooley is the goddamned truth. Insane playmaking ability to set up the only goal the Yotes had tonight and the breakaway that got Zucker a penalty shot.

Coyotes gave up D. Strome and Brendan Perlini for Nick Schmaltz who is quietly a solid top-6 winger in his own right. So it wasn't a terrible deal on their end, but, man, Barrett Hayton is not an actual 1C.

How much do you think Shane Pinto and a future first round pick are to the value of an NHL franchise? Like are we talking 100 million, 200 million? Is Andlauer a huge Pinto fan

If that first round pick is Connor Bedard, I'd put the number in the billions range. Good thing whatever franchise got that guy deserved the money.

Really awesome Tkachuk bowl. Game kept ramping up and up starting in the 2nd period in terms of chippiness, then everything exploded halfway in the third when Brady went on a breakaway.

And then video of the ref tossing 10 people for misconducts with the incredible line "everybody on the ice has a 10 minute misconduct". They have ejected 13 players with 5:30 to go.

Is there any reason not to think it was gambling? Possibly on Blackhawks games?

Here's your ESPN story with as much detail as we'll get, from Emily Kaplan.

https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/38999666/blackhawks-waive-corey-perry-unacceptable-conduct

Most relevant quote is here:

"Davidson said the team was first notified of the allegations last week when the Blackhawks were in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday to play the Blue Jackets. Sources told ESPN's Emily Kaplan that Perry indeed traveled with the team to Columbus last Tuesday, a day before the game, and an incident occurred that day involving a team employee. Davidson said Perry, who did not play in the team's 7-3 loss, was "immediately pulled" from the game once the Blackhawks were notified, and at that point, the club began an investigation."

I found this interesting.

"[Davidson] also said the players have no knowledge or any details of the incident."

Wonder how the locker room feels about it.

Sens need to fire their coach again. Went up 3-0, stayed up 3-1 going into the 3rd, and managed to blow it to lose 4-3 with this being the game winning goal:

Having seen what Fenway Sports Group has allowed the Boston Red Sox to become while owners, I can absolutely believe that they'd let the Penguins trade off one of their superstars to save money or even wilt completely as a basement dwelling team. And I'm not even that doomer about the Pens! The ownership group is not to be trusted.

You misunderstand the purpose of that line. It's three absolute dickheads (Tkachuk-Bennett-Cousins), not a scoring line. Cousins fits in great on it.

I'm actually pretty happy with this return for the Pens. Those are 3 guys that have been producing where they are, and are all young. Koivunen has 55 points in 57 games as a 20 year old for Karpat, Vasili Ponomarev is a 21 year old C with 29 points in 39 games in the AHL, and Cruz Lucius is a PPG 19 year old in college. Bunting and a 2nd are what people may focus on and laugh at, but I legitimately think these guys are good prospects to pick up. Especially if you think Dubas had to get guys that were close to the NHL--Ponomarev has played 2 games in the show and has a goal and an assist.

Underrated laffo target, IMO.

I'll have you know the 1915 Vancouver Millionaires won the Stanley Cup, so the Vancouver drought is only since 1915.
