what is the best mouse

soon I will have to give up my sons glorious model O wireless, which is the best mouse I’ve ever used

and I could replace it with another but maybe there’s something better. maybe those ergo mice are truly the way to go?

oh in that case get a rat

real answer: nobody makes a mouse that both works well and looks like a bar of soap because people that like boring looking mice don't care if it has 1600 dpi or w/e

high read rate or at least accurate read on the wheel matters. hate it when you scroll too fast and whatever doesn’t move accordingly

the glorious model O wireless has a dpi button and you can set what and how many values it cycles thru. I had two setup that was good. it just feels so good in the hand and spose that’s important

mickey mouse master seems like the one to look at rn

it's not! i posted it way back in the mechanical keyboard thread, but i like my tkl low profile kb and trackball for comfortable hand positioning

there's a huge model, but idk, the pro is about the same as the trackman wireless which was the best fitting trackball i've ever had

edit: but trackballs are a very specific thing. I like it fine for light games and general computing, but it's not like the fancier gaming mice

i have a huge and it's too small

i tried a deft pro in a store a few weeks ago, and it wasn't really any better

they both feel like you need to build some crazy ramp contraption to make it not sit at an uncomfortable angle, because they don't have enough curve to the actual body

I know exactly what you mean. my cordless optical trackman was just rounder and just longer and my hand could sit a bit more vertical to prevent wrist turning. I was so bummed when it developed double-click-itis

if it wasn't for the terrible wireless Logitech dongle (and, of course, one used by none of their other products) it would be fine. why a wireless trackball but not Bluetooth is still the dumbest choice for an otherwise fine mouse

maybe I should fix it… if I put the receiver right next to it and change batteries regularly it could be okay… maybe

this was probably my all time favorite mouse, I think I bought five of them over the years

I found one of these in my closet and was going to keep it around for old times sake but the scroll wheel did that thing where the rubber separates and gets sticky
