i thought juggernaut was intended to be the "stop relying on melee for big damage" but apparently i am in the minority and most people just tried to fly up its butt despite its capacity to run away

I don't know if I'm just good at playing the early game of 6 or it's a testament to how well balanced the game is, but there haven't been any really "lovely" builds submitted so far. I'm actually kind of disappointed. That said, I have not recorded Chapter 2 yet, so the OppenMech could be an amazing disaster, we'll see. I'm kind of worried about how it will handle both the Sweeper though. It's got no real good angle of attack exploiting weapons for that one. The Sea Spider I am mildly less worried about.

You'll know how well it goes if I start rageposting in the thread randomly in the middle of the night.

You're right, I forgot about the Songbirds. Those things are gonna carry Chapter 2, I have no doubt.

I'm not sure about actively trying to come up with terrible builds, i think it's just pure chaos of people picking individual bits of gear with basically no group coordination. The ones I've put forward, at any rate, aren't thought through very much beyond what i think might be fun to see in the hands of a skilled player we just need the wrecker parts from grid 086 to build THE BUS now, right?

But yeah, trying half the stuff that we've seen here in, say, last raven would have made the game look like some kind of kaizo romhack. AC6 is probably the most newbie-accessible game From have made since metal wolf.

i mean there is nothing stopping the thread from coordination. we are all right here. the best coordonation we are likely to get though is people trying to make the stupidest/funniest robot for crow to pilot

Screw you, physics!
I have no idea how to mechanically interpret all of the numbers and just went "that seems like an option" when choosing things. I mostly go for the aesthetics which probably also work together more mechanically because AC6 is a really well designed game.

Again, when it comes to general missions there's no real "here's some real dogshit parts that aren't gonna work" choices. Bosses on the other hand, are an entirely different beast. So if you folks who've already beaten the game and know what's coming want to start throwing wrenches into the works, start picking weapons you know are going to just plink off certain bosses and encourage others to pick similarly poorly specc'd ones as well.

Punching the bosses to death is completely viable. The Oppencore should do just fine frankly for chapter two

Also I am a melee enjoyer and will almost always try to rush a melee weapon into a slot if a left side is available.

99% of people playing a regular game find a cheesy tactic that works then do nothing else for the rest of the game and learn nothing.

Fromsoft games have skill checks that make sure you have been learning the lessons the game has been trying to teach you. For some people, this just the worst thing ever for some reason.

The lessons are usually simple. If the enemy is strong up close, attack at range or with quick hit and run attacks. It the enemy is strong at range, rub your face on their crotch and stab them in the ankle. If the enemy is impervious from the front, get behind them. Etc.

And even with that, if you get good at the game, you can still use your single cheesy tactic all the way through to the end boss.

on ac6 launch i found out that boating zimms and stun needles works then did nothing else for the rest of the game and learned nothing

There are some pretty gnarly melee weapons that we have yet to unlock. I was going to suggest a brawler build with a laserblade, ashmead, kikaku, and maybe a shotgun and songbirds because I'm not a complete monster- but perhaps we should hold off on this gimmick until we have basho, spring chicken, a laser slicer and maybe double trouble
poo poo, choosing between melee weapons is going to be hard.

All you need is BASHO anything else is just dressing on top, BASHO and some solid melee choices will obliterate nearly anything in the game

For me the stat I really needed to pay attention to early on is that it turns out the 'Firearms Specialisation' stat on arms, that improves aim, is a lot less important than having heavy arms that can actually handle the recoil of the big heavy guns I'm strapping on.

Same here. I ignored the recoil stat for a long time thinking it only mattered for like the machine guns, but it causes a lot of misses with my favorite semi auto Ranjetsus and handguns. I didn't realize I needed less firearm specialisation and more recoil control until my third playthrough

Counterintuitively, recoil control does less the faster a weapon fires because it only kicks in after a 1/20th of a second delay from the last shot from either arm weapon.

This means a gatling, which shoot 20 times per second, literally turns off recoil control.

Recoil control is very easy to test in VR sim simply by firing your weapon and looking at the crosshair. If its all over to place you probably need more of it unless its a gatling or something

People have done punch-only runs on youtube and honestly once you get over the novelty it's not very entertaining.

Running out of ammo and having to finish off a boss with punches is pretty hype, but doing a whole level that way is just kinda eh.
