Following on the Stockton rules chat from the previous thread, basically Stockton rules are the same as Pride rules:quote:The fight is scored in its entirety and not round-by-round. After the third round, each judge must decide a winner. Matches cannot end in a draw. A decision is made according to the following criteria in this order of priority:

Or you could move to Stockton / Pride rules where there is a heavy scoring bias in favour of 'trying to finish the fight'. It would lead to more contentious decisions but also push fighters away from boring control game plans.

For me the issue is that there is no 'point' to many of tbe fights any more. The match making is done on star power, titles often don't mean anything. So depsite having just watched 295 and enjoyed the spectacle it's hard to get hyped about the results because Aspinall isn't really the heavyweight champ and I'm unconvinced about Pereira as my last memory of him was getting KTFO by Adesanya in a lower weight class. Basically most main events are now like competitive exhibition matches. Was Joe Silva leaving the departure point for all this?
