Ugh, I always forget about that mine cart minigame, and it's never a fun surprise. I really don't like that mode 7 rotation, I love how well they recreated the visual feel of the rest of the game but I wouldn't mind if they dumped that. What really strikes me is how much this game changed Bowser as a character and even Peach. Before, he was just a plot device, an excuse to set the plot in motion. But this game gave him character and made him more well rounded, even as he's still antagonistic to Mario.

Mallow getting let out of game jail feels like the monkey's paw addition to wishing Geno would get let out of game jail. I'll have to do some math on whether I don't want Mallow more than I do want Geno, I don't have an answer yet but I'm not sure it's looking good for our giant-sized doll friend. As much as I like his sullen "I'll dance to the extent my contract requires me to" level-up performance.

I am late to the party, but the missable chest in episode 1 is no longer missable. You might hit it in a later episode, but they added toads to the hall that you can jump on.
