xbilkis posted:I think Fields is ultimately fated to be like, the 18th best quarterback in the league with maybe higher-than-usual upside if you find a situation for him that's absolutely perfectly tailored to his strengths, and lower-than-usual downside if you just put him in a vanilla offense that's designed for Joe Quarterback to run Yeah, that's where I'm at with Fields at this point, now. 35 games into his career, I think he's shown us what he really is, which is to say: 1) He's not a pocket passer, 2) he has terrible footwork in the pocket, 3) he has real issues with fumbles and strip sacks, 4) he holds onto the ball way too long and 5) he's playing terrified because he's running for his life on almost every dropback. Sure, every now and again he can nail a laser bolt to DJ Moore, like he did to set up the game-winning field goal the other night, but all too often he's ignoring receivers who are completely open with no DBs anywhere near them because he's already staring at and locked-on to his target, drat the torpedoes. Maybe some other team can unlock something with him, but I just don't think he's the guy in Chicago.
