Tag league is ongoing, both for New and All Japan. Continental Classic has just started over in AEW. I know what we're missing, a round robin tournament to decide Ueno's first challenger. Have a sinking feeling that half these matches will be on tape delay because Wrestle Universe but will try to keep the points as current as possible, so watch out if you don't want to get spoiled.

DDT “D-OH GRAND PRIX 2023 THE FINAL”, 03/01/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. D-Oh Grand Prix 2023 – Final: Winner Of A Block Vs Winner Of B

As to who actually has a a chance of winning:
A Block
Yuki Ueno (5th Appearance, 2022 Winner) - Coming in as championso unlikely but not impossible, it was only 2 years ago Takeshita won as champ when he was running roughshod over the entire roster
Tetsuya Endo (7th Appearance) - Always in with a shout, but unlikely. Just lost to Sasaki at Ultimate Party and don't see them rehabbing him this quickly, especially in such a stacked block
Kazusada Higuchi (6th Appearance) - Definitely a threat, although being in the same block as Ueno makes it unlikely, maybe he'll beat the champ in the block match to set up a challenge down the track
Daisuke Sasaki (6th Appearance) - I hope not, although since he beat Endo at UP I could see it, especially if DDT want Ueno to become a super hero by retaining over the whole of DAMNATION T.A
HARASHIMA (6th Appearance) - Lowest chance in the block, but not zero. Mr DDT has never won this tournament, I could definitely see one last run before he hits the other side of 50 and his skills decline
Yuki Iino (2nd Appearance) - Chance is depending on whether he's entirely shed Pheromones and is wrestling as the hoss again. He looked dapper as hell in the suit when he made his return, so have some tentative hope especially since his last block match is against Ueno

B Block
Chris Brookes (5th Appearance) - The former champ, doubt they'll give him another shot so soon but it's a definitely possibility in this weaker group
MAO (5th Appearance) - Very little chance, he'll drop a couple in the blocks to set up Universal title challengers in the new year
Yukio Naya (2nd Appearance) - Last years finalist and the company seems to like him, though if he continues his war with All Japan that'll most likely be taking up his time in the new year
KANON (2nd Appearance) - Dark horse, he's a lower card guy that went 1-4 last time but shows flashes of greatness when not teaming with D T.A
Kazuki Hirata (1st Appearance) - No chance, much as I like Hirata and he's more than capable of pulling out a great wrestling match when he needs to he's definititively a comedy guy
Rei Saito (1st Appearance) - God I hope not. Will get a couple of big wins and further the stuff with Naya but he and his brother will hopefully be far too busy with Tag league and being GLEAT's champs to make a run here as well

First show starts in roughly 4 and a half hours from this post, come join me. Post your block winners and eventual champion, I've decided to declare that Yukio Naya will defeat Kazusada Higuchi in the finals

Don't you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby

Fair play to Saito for doing two round robin tournaments at once but he is the lesser brother in a team i'm already not a fan of

Dieno was doing that bullshit long before Pheromones and is unfortunately doing it after it's dead. I sure hope Iino is free of it in his match with HARASHIMA today

Haha yeah. Even something like the crowd chanting for him, him not quite making it to the ropes so they start trailing off, so he starts chanting his own name to get them going again somehow works to make him endearingly pathetic.
