OP for what it's worth I use resolutions on the low end for the same reason. This is hard to explain but I also find the really high resolutions to look strange, like sharp edged and unpleasant vs lower resolutions that look smoother.

The setting for this is literally called "Make everything bigger" in windows to help people find it when they type their problem into the start menu. I've got a 1440 monitor and put mine on 125%

I bought yet another computer about 5 years ago. I threw it away in the garbage 2 years ago. I never did learn how to use one and thank Christ now everything is able to be done on a phone. I skipped generations of technology, It's bizarre as hell but it's better now

I got 1440 because 4k seemed like a way to make your GPU not cut the mustard. 4k people always fiddling with settings and worried about performance.

4K doesn’t even exist. For all of history prior, resolution was measured by the number of vertical pixels but then suddenly 2160p didn’t sound sexy enough for some marketing dilbert so now we have K’s using the number of horizontal pixels and it’s bullshit because it’s 3820 pixels not 4000, just a flat out lie by Big TV to get you to pay big bucks and then they keep the 180 pixels that YOU paid for. My lawyer is writing up the class action as I write this post.

i use two 32" 4k screen at native resolution, no dpi scaling. i'm 40 and it's easy to read the text. sounds like a skill issue, op.
