I've resolved to be better about playing and finishing games in 2024 (much like previous failed years, but surely this is the one) so tonight I've set out on playing Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun and I've got to say after a few levels it really kicks rear end.

Space Marine came out almost specifically as an antithesis to cover shooters. Instead of hiding behind cover and waiting for your health to regen, you were encouraged to always rush forward into crowds of orcs and perform special melee attacks on them which would recharge your health. After that, Doom 2016 evolved this mechanic into Glory Kills. What I'm saying is that Space Marine kicks rear end.

Space Marines act as cover for own their fully automatic rocket rifles. As long as fleshy bits are shot instead of the gun, it's all good.
